Scope and Contents
The Dan Tassel photography collection contains photographs, printed books, and stereoscopic slides from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as a stereoscope for three-dimensional viewing of the slides. Subjects include the architecture and people of the Middle East (with a particular focus on Israel), Italy, and the United States; and a historical and modern photography portfolio of Jerusalem by Dan Tassel. The collection also features works of noted 20th-century photographers Jules Aarons, Yaacov Ben-Dov, Richard Benson, Tim Gidal, and Ezra Stoller.

This series contains Dan Tassel's portfolio publication, "Jerusalem Then and Now." It juxtaposes 19th-century photographs of various sites in Jerusalem, taken by Félix Bonfils, Francis Frith, and C. and G. Zangaki, with 20th- century photographs of these same sites, taken by Dan Tassel in the early 1980s. Scope and Contents
This series contains photographs collected by Dan Tassel. Subjects include architecture, people, and street views of Istanbul, Venice, Jerusalem, and Boston, as well as the Touro Synagogue in Rhode Island. Photographs of Europe date primarily from the late 1800s; photographs of Israel and the United States are from the 1930s through 1980s. Of particular interest are images taken by noted 20th-century photographers Jules Aarons, Yaacov Ben-Dov, Richard Benson, Tim Gidal, and Ezra Stoller.

This series contains a stereoscope and 100 stereoscopic slides. The slides were produced in a collection called "Palestine" from 1899-1901 by Underwood & Underwood Publishers, and feature images of various sites throughout Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria. The stereoscope allows for three-dimensional viewing of the slides.
