These are contained in over 500 pages below. Since the previous revision, we have filled in gaps, adding about 50 pages and one new segment while linking two others. Privacy For privacy reasons this website does not intentionally include references to anyone who is currently alive. To implement this, we have excluded everyone born after about 1920. As a consequence, to find the place in the trees which is relevant to you, you need to search for an ancestor who was born prior to 1920. For more information about privacy, please see what is written under the "Legals" tab in the main website. Abbreviations & Page Layout In the following pages, some abbreviations are used including: Abbreviation Stands For b. “born” of date of birth. c. “christened” or date of baptism. d. “death” or date of death. bu. “buried” or date of interment. m. “marriage” or date of marriage. Q1 First quarter of the year or January-March inclusive. Likewise for Q2, Q3 & Q4. abt “about” + This person married the person immediately above. ⑦ Number in a circle tells the number of this child within the family. For example ⑦ means the 7th child. Dates are written in the English manner of DD/MM/YYYY. The header of each page shows the lineage back to the first person in this segment of the tree. The vertical lines show the number of generations from the first person in this segment of the tree. How to Search for your Ancestors Due to the large number of Toops in these tree segments, we recommend searching for the people of interest to you by using your internet browser’s search function. As every browser works a little differently, you may have to experiment to find exactly what works for you. We can recommend the following general ideas: 1. To search for a specific person, start by pressing <CTRL> F. That means press down the CTRL key and then the “F” key at the same time. This will open a “search bar” on the screen. 2. Click on the search bar and type the name of your ancestor. Then press the "ENTER" key. If there are any occurrences of this in the file, the cursor will go to the first occurrence. If there are multiple occurrences, you can proceed to the others by clicking on the “next” or “previous” arrows next to the search bar. 3. If you cannot find what you want, try other word combinations until you find something that works. Some hints are: a. Be as specific as you can. For example “william george” is better than "william" because there will be hundreds of occurrences of "william" that you would have to sort through. b. Try to search for an uncommon name, for example the family name of a wife (like Davidge). This is to avoid having to search through many Toops with the same name. c. The name of your earliest ancestor that you know of. A more recent ancestor may not have been included because some of his/her relatives of the same generation may still be alive, so that whole generation may not have been included. d. Alternatively, you may search by date. Here again there may be multiple entries with the same date so you may have to work through a number of entries until you find the one of interest to you. e. If you cannot find your ancestor in these trees, please contact us via the “Contact Us” tab and we should be able to help. 4. Once you find the segment of interest, please check it and let us know if you find any errors. Please provide corroborating evidence when you suggest changes. 5. We would like to expand the tree so if you have any additional information, please contact us via the "Contact Us" tab. The authors, being amateur genealogists, have endeavoured to be thorough and diligent with tracing of all dates and connections. However, there are specific errors where dates of baptism are interchanged with date of birth and dates of burial are interchanged with date of death. In most cases these dates should be similar, but in some cases, we have found that the baptism occurred several years after birth. Please let us know if you are able to be provide more exact information. How to Search for Places To find the location or other information about the places mentioned in the tree, we suggest that you type the name of the town and county into an internet search engine like Google eg. “lytchett minster dorset”. Google maps is useful for showing the location while Wikipedia is useful for providing information about the place including historical material. G R I F F I N University of Sussex ABSTRACT. No form of English popular protest has been subject to such close scholarly analysis as the eighteenth-century food riot, a response not just to the understanding that food riots comprised two out of every three crowd actions but also to the influence of E. P. Thompson’s seminal paper ‘The moral economy of the English crowd’. If the food riot is now understood as an event of consid- erable complexity, one assertion remains unchallenged: that riots remained a tradition of the towns, with agrarian society all but unaffected by food rioting. This article offers a new interpretation in which the rural is not just the backdrop to food protests but instead a locus and focus of collective actions over the marketing of provisions, with agricultural workers taking centre stage. It is shown that agricultural workers often took the lead in market town riots as well as well as in instigating riots in the countryside.

    South West river basin district Flood Risk Management Plan 2015 to 2021 Habitats Regulation Assessment March 2016 Executive summary The Flood Risk Management Plan (FRMP) for the South West River Basin District (RBD) provides an overview of the range of flood risks from different sources across the 9 catchments of the RBD. The RBD catchments are defined in the River Basin Management Plan (RBMP) and based on the natural configuration of bodies of water (rivers, estuaries, lakes etc.). The FRMP provides a range of objectives and programmes of measures identified to address risks from all flood sources. These are drawn from the many risk management authority plans already in place but also include a range of further strategic developments for the FRMP ‘cycle’ period of 2015 to 2021. The total numbers of measures for the South West RBD FRMP are reported under the following types of flood management action: Types of flood management measures % of RBD measures Prevention – e.g. land use policy, relocating people at risk etc. 21 % Protection – e.g. various forms of asset or property-based protection 54% Preparedness – e.g. awareness raising, forecasting and warnings 21% Recovery and review – e.g. the ‘after care’ from flood events 1% Other – any actions not able to be categorised yet 3% The purpose of the HRA is to report on the likely effects of the FRMP on the network of sites that are internationally designated for nature conservation (European sites), and the HRA has been carried out at the level of detail of the plan. Many measures do not have any expected physical effects on the ground, and have been screened out of consideration including most of the measures under the categories of Prevention, Preparedness, Recovery and Review.

After graduating from Canterbury College of Art with a degree and diploma in Architecture and RIBA Part III, she achieved a further diploma in Building Conservation at the Architectural Association in London. Kim has wide-ranging expertise including hands-on repair of historic buildings including mosaics, frescos, lime mortar and render. She also appears as expert witness in public inquiries in design matters and has been contract administrator for several complex historic building projects. She has been the author of many conservation area appraisals and has contributed heritage input to many neighbourhood plans. As well as running a busy practice Kim mentors undergraduates at the University of West of England and has applied to be on the conservation judging panel for the South West RIBA Regional Awards 2020.
