He is the man of ideas and more importantly he has the ability to execute his plans. Blogging was not something which came to naturally to the writers or media professionals in our part of the world. It went to his credit to have developed a blog dedicated to sports in 2008 and he has kept pace with the times by making it interesting as well as user friendly. I reckon that he is among the pioneers as far as setting up a blog on sports is concerned. Indeed he possessed the skills and the capacity to meet the challenge and he has done it with a bang. My own martial art students, spread in different corners of the world, continue reminding me that they are able to track my abilities by reading the contents published on SkmSports.com which is doing a terrific job in promoting sports activities. I am told that an article on me captained ‘Ashraf Tai: Pakistan’s Martial Art Icon’ which was published on the blog in November 2008 generated record number of hits and a high number of comments were posted. The novel idea to publish the top articles of the blog in book form was well received and the publication of Reflections-2 clearly suggests that this practice will continue in feature as well. REFLECTIONS-2 7 Naeem-ul-Haq urges ICC to invest more for grassroots development January 5, 2010 While appreciating the efforts of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in globalization of the sport, Naeem-ul-Haq, a former cricketer from Pakistan having relocated in the United States of America (USA), firmly believes that better results could be accomplished if more funds were allocated to the grassroots development. “The ICC would be better off investing in the infrastructure development in countries where cricket remained a minority sport. I believe that in order to fast track their efforts they should enhance their grants to the member countries,” Naeem, one of the coaches of the United States of America Cricket Association (USACA), observed in an interview during his recent visit to Pakistan. “I must say the ICC has been doing a fabulous job by funding the national cricket bodies of their member countries but I have a feeling that the results would start coming faster if they could directly take care of the various coaching programmes aimed at engaging
