Nexter, a company of KNDS, confirms its position as the French systems integrator of land defense at Eurosatory Eurosatory, Parc des Expositions de Paris-Nord Villepinte - June 8th, 2018 - Nexter will be present, under the KNDS Group banner (KMW + NEXTER Defense Systems) for this year’s edition of the Defense & Security International Exhibition, Eurosatory, which will take place from June 11th to 15th. Nexter demonstrates its status as the leading French systems integrator. Through the creation of KNDS, Nexter, together with its partner KMW, occupy a position as the leader in the Franco-German and European land defense industry. This global meeting is a privileged moment for the company, allowing Nexter to display its entire range. As the main supplier of the French army, Nexter shows its commitment in the SCORPION program. The JAGUAR (EBRC) will be exhibited on the Nexter and Defense Ministry booth for the first time, alongside his partner in the EBMR program, the GRIFFON (VBMR). The renovated LECLERC tank will complete this static display on the Nexter booth. The latest vehicle of the SCORPION range, the Lightweight VBMR, will be presented in a full size holographic animation. Finally, Nexter's SEMBA embedded simulation solution will be shown on the static display of the Ministry of Defense (zone Vulcain). The other systems and products from the Group will also be presented: the VBCI APC [Troop Transport], the CAESAR® family range, with the 6x6 and 8x8 versions and the 105LG1 artillery system. The digital dimension of the Group will be illustrated by an augmented platform, thanks to the Nerva and OPTIO robots.

SCORPION: GRIFFON command post is qualified November 23, 2020 On 13 November 2020, the French Delegation for Armaments (DGA) qualified the command post vehicle (EPC) variant of the GRIFFON vehicle. At the same time, the first examples are being submitted for acceptance by the DGA's quality department at the Roanne site. Therefore, the three first GRIFFON EPC have been delivered to the Army technical section (STAT) which will continue the operational evaluation of this equipment with its rapid deployment within the regiments in sight. The GME (temporary grouping of companies) EBMR (Engins Blindés Multi-Rôles) comprised of Nexter, Arquus and Thales is fully mobilized on the production of the first 20 series GRIFFON EPCs to be presented to verification operations by the end of 2020. Ultimately, the SCORPION program calls for the acquisition of 333 units of this variant, half of which will be delivered by 2025. As a reminder, the SCORPION program aims to modernize the Army's combat capabilities and in particular to improve command through new information resources. The GRIFFON EPC can accommodate a pilot and a gunner in the front, and five soldiers in the rear of the vehicle. From an external point of view, the silhouette of the EPC does not differ from the VTT Félin variant (troop transport vehicle). Only the armament changes, with the integration on the roof of a new-generation T2 remotely operated turret armed with a 7.62mm caliber. Inside, on the other hand, the GRIFFON EPC is fully equipped to accommodate a command post: communication means, large screens, a board and a printer.

CHARACTERISATION OF EXPLOSIVE WEAPONS EXPLOSIVEEXPLOSIVE WEAPON EFFECTSWEAPON OVERVIEW EFFECTS FINAL REPORT ABOUT THE GICHD AND THE PROJECT The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) is an expert organisation working to reduce the impact of mines, cluster munitions and other explosive hazards, in close partnership with states, the UN and other human security actors. Based at the Maison de la paix in Geneva, the GICHD employs around 55 staff from over 15 countries with unique expertise and knowledge. Our work is made possible by core contributions, project funding and in-kind support from more than 20 governments and organisations. Motivated by its strategic goal to improve human security and equipped with subject expertise in explosive hazards, the GICHD launched a research project to characterise explosive weapons. The GICHD perceives the debate on explosive weapons in populated areas (EWIPA) as an important humanitarian issue. The aim of this research into explosive weapons characteristics and their immediate, destructive effects on humans and structures, is to help inform the ongoing discussions on EWIPA, intended to reduce harm to civilians. The intention of the research is not to discuss the moral, political or legal implications of using explosive weapon systems in populated areas, but to examine their characteristics, effects and use from a technical perspective. The research project started in January 2015 and was guided and advised by a group of 18 international experts dealing with weapons-related research and practitioners who address the implications of explosive weapons in the humanitarian, policy, advocacy and legal fields. This report and its annexes integrate the research efforts of the characterisation of explosive weapons (CEW) project in 2015-2016 and make reference to key information sources in this domain.

WLR44-4_OLSON-4-25-08 6/3/2008 3:46:03 PM PISTOLS, CRIME, AND PUBLIC: SAFETY IN EARLY AMERICA CLAYTON E. CRAMER1 & JOSEPH EDWARD OLSON2 There is a vigorous debate under way about the scope of the Second Amendment. What are the limits of that right? What “arms” does it protect? Does it protect an individual right to possess and perhaps to carry firearms? The District of Columbia, in its attempt to defend its 1976 gun control law, has argued that the widespread possession of handguns (“pistols”) represents an especially serious public safety hazard, and that even if arguendo, the Second Amendment protects an individual right, it would not extend to pistols, which the District of Columbia characterizes as “uniquely dangerous weapons” that present “unique dangers to innocent persons.”3 This paper examines what was likely the Framer’s original public meaning of the Bill of Rights provision that protects “the right of the people to keep and bear arms,” with no apparent limitations concerning handguns. We do so by examining what the history of pistols in early America tells us about foreseeable technological developments. I. GUNS, ARMS, FIRE-ARMS, PISTOLS: SOME DEFINITIONS A few definitions are appropriate because there have been a few subtle changes in the meaning of some of the terms over the last two centuries. “Gun” had a more restricted meaning in the eighteenth century than it does today, referring in some contexts to privately owned cannon,4 but most often to what today we call long guns: 1.
