Vichy Campground Church to host 132nd annual Camp meeting

The members of the Vichy Campground Church of God are invit- ing everyone to attend the 132nd annual Campmeeting Aug. 3-12. Pastor Clarence G. Campbell said all are welcome to attend and free accommodations are available on a first come, first serve basis. Full camper hookups are available also. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served with a free will offering. A snack bar also is available. Each day will be busy with a prayer meeting at 8 a.m., morning worship at 10 a.m., a 2:30 p.m. youth service followed by a children’s service. Read From the Start program has high turn out at Vienna locations

Heartland Library recently hosted the Read From the Start program at all of its four library locations and the programs were well received in their respective communities. Library Director Lisa Garro said the program at the Vienna Branch had 35 people attending and they all liked the program that encour- ages young readers. The Missouri Humanities Council is hosting this program that provides parents and daycare providers the know-how of storytell- ing. Those attending also took home several free books to add to their home library.

The Belle Fair kicked off on Wednesday with the Parade (above). After the Fair Queen contest the little dancers (left) and Belle Dance Team took to the main stage. Large crowds gathered Thursday night for the Greased Pig contest. Bicycle winners from the parade were; first place Beau Harvey, second place Dayton Harvey and third place Landon Finn. Ashley Tegart won the Queen candidate float category.
