NATURE AND SCOPE OF PUBLICATIONS • Independently wrote a monograph “Trust Management in Mobile Environments – Usable and Autonomic Models”, which summarizes my personal research results in the area of trusted computing and trust management in mobile environments: mobile cloud computing, the mobile Internet, human-computer trust interaction, mobile applications, pervasive social networking, and autonomic and usable trust management. • Independently edited one book “Trust Modeling and Management in Digital Environments: from Social Concept to System Development” with a total of 21 chapters. The book collected recent advances in trust management from both academia and industry. It is one of the earliest books in this area. • Edit more than 30 reputable international journal special issues about blockchain, cloud data security, big data privacy, trust management, mobile multimedia communications, trust & identity, data mining and information fusion in IoT, trustworthy information fusion and data mining, trust in cyber, physical and social computing, 5G technologies, pervasive social networking, security, privacy and trust in the next generation mobile communication networks, etc. • About 30 invited talks at conferences and reputable universities to report research results on trust management, privacy, security and data management (refer to full publication list). • 260+ peer-reviewed scientific and technical publications in the area of trust, security, privacy and data analytics, including 150+ journal articles, 2 solely authored books, 9 conference proceedings, and 13 book chapters. Most

2/8 of journal and conference papers were first or corresponding authored. Many paper articles were published in highly reputable journals and conferences, such as IEEE TII, IEEE TDSC, ACM TOMM, ACM TPCS, IEEE IoT, IEEE TCC, IEEE TBD, IEEE TCSS, JCSS, Information Sciences, Information Fusion, IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE ICC, etc. (refer to full publication list). • 25 granted patents and 46 PCT patent applications adopted by industry including 28 sole inventions, 17 Chinese patent applications, (refer to full publication list). • A co-author of Nokia’s proposal for DVB-CPCM standard. NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH COLLABORATION • Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, USA (01.2018 - date): Cooperation with Prof. Wenjing Lou (IEEE Fellow) and Prof. Thomas Hou (IEEE Fellow) on Blockchain for IoT Data Trust Management, jointly instruct a PhD student based on CSC. • Singapore Management University (09.2009 - 09.2010, 11.2015 - date): Cooperated with Singapore Management University based on Nokia donated project “The Use of Mobile Devices in RFID-based Supply Chain Management”, developed a mobile user data privacy preservation solution for mobile internet services, co-instructed a PhD student and worked out some joint publications. Invited to visit HUST in Oct. 2010 and gave a speech on “Building Trust in Mobile Environments”. • Renmin University of China (01.2007 – 12.2008): Acted as a project manager and principle investigator of human- machine trust interaction and led the cooperation between Nokia Research Center (Helsinki) and Renmin University of China. Coordinated the cooperation and knowledge exchange between Nokia security and trust research and Chinese academia (e.g., Tsinghua Univ.). This project explores a user driven trust modeling and management methodology based on a psychometrical method in order to design and develop a usable trust management system, e.g., for mobile applications and services and pervasive social networking. This cooperation worked out a number of joint papers.

Sponsored 2 post-doc, 4 PhD students and 3 master students to visit Aalto University for 3m – 2y (2017-2019). • Coordinate international education cooperation and exchange program between Aalto University and Xidian University. From 2019-2022, 3 post-doc, 9 PhD students and 3 faculties will be sponsored to visit Aalto University. • Supported PhD summer school and tutorial based on IEEE TrustCom/BigDataSE/ISPA-2015 and NSS/ICA3PP/IEEE CIT-2017 joint international conferences.
