This EP, Melancholy Breakdown has a unique, distinct and identifiable sound with strong melodic guitar hooks that stick to your musical memory. Greg is a drummer, guitarist, songwriter and vocalist. At a young age Greg successfully toured from 1981 to 1992 with three alternative bands - No Problem, Erotic Sneeze, and Boys Choir. He also toured with and opened for such bands as The Tubes, Violent Femmes, Blue Oyster Cult, Adrian Belew, and a huge number of 80’s bands. Greg was part of new wave scene of the early 80’s in Santa Cruz, California along side bands like The Humans, The Call, Tao Chemical with Rob Brezsny, World Entertainment War, and the true college radio pioneers - Camper Van Beethoven. Greg continues to write music for licensing, independent films and Saint Sebastian as well as drumming and vocals. GUEST STAR MUSICIANS JEFF PEVAR Jeff Pevar is a stellar guitarist, composer, producer, performer and multi-instrumentalist who has brought his unique style on stage and/or in the studio to such world-renowned artists as Ray Charles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joe Cocker, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Kenny Loggins, Jefferson Starship, Phil Lesh and Friends, Marc Cohn, Rickie Lee Jones, Jazz Is Dead, CPR (w/ David Crosby & James Raymond) and many others. Jeff is a sought-after session musician who composes movie scores and music for television shows in addition to composing original music for his own releases. Jeff has co-written many songs that have appeared on recordings of David Crosby, Graham Nash and other artists. BRET LEVICK-Producer/Melancholy Breakdown Bret Levick is an acclaimed American rocker, edgy singer/songwriter, and renown lyricist. His moody swagger, thoughtfully-crafted song writing, and unique musical and vocal styles have been turning heads for nearly two decades. Today, Bret resides in the progressive, culturally-rich town of Ashland, Oregon where he continues to write and produce for himself, for other artists, and for TV and film. Mastered by: Jim Chapdelaine SHAY GODWIN Shay Godwin is a Los Angeles-based drummer and has done recording sessions for songwriters, television commercials, movies, and worldwide touring acts. Shay is a long-time member of LA band, The Dirty Diamond. An independent band, they have had local radio airplay, played at The Greek Theater Los Angeles, and garnered some “elite” fans. Since 2015, Shay has spent most of his time working with two-time Grammy-nominated artist, Andra Day. Starting off as her live drummer, he is now part of her songwriting/production team. An album is currently in the works for Warner Brothers records. Shay has also toured or recorded with Common and Florence Welch (Florence And The Machine). BRENT DANIELS (Track 2: Soundscaping on Down by Saint Sebastian) Brent Daniels (aka "Free") is an award-winning music producer, composer, sound designer, songwriter, and singer. His music has been used extensively in film (Charlie’s Angels, The Lake House), television (Mad Men, Shameless), and trailers for movies, TV, and games through Disney Studios, Marvel Studios, Dreamworks, Paramount, Warner Brothers, Sony, Fox, Universal, HBO Films, Hulu, Netflix and more. MUSIC VIDEO: DOWN Born out of Goebelt’s downward spiral into despair & depression while struggling with an aggressive auto-immune disease that literally brought him, his marriage and his life to a dark edge. This EP is part of the story of the fall, the pain and the climb back from the breakdown. Each song is different, driving, emotional and all share the same great production. Trent Reznor, the demiurge behind Nine Inch Nails has just boldly freed himself from traditional restraints to free dissemination. Ghosts I-IV, last NIN album to date, has been released without the help of any record company and the first 9 tracks are available in free download on the band's website. NIN releases the whole album and its graphics and covers under a Creative Commons by-nc-sa licence. This means any person who adquired the album, either by purchasing or downloading is by now free to share it, sample or remix it, under the following conditions : attribute the work in the manner specified by the author, and not use it for commercial purpose. This initiative obviously runs counter to digital locking systems set up by the recording industry, and counter to its hollow fight against "piracy". By choosing the free licences, Reznor prooves that the music may be shared freely, and that "free" music is not necessarily "cheap" music, which would be of lesser quality than "commercial" music. Doing this, Reznor prooves also that free dissemination is by no way uncompatible with some kind of trade, as the Ghosts I-IV album was actually sold, in lossless digital format as well as in limited edition cds. Nine Inch Nails affords the luxury to conciliate profitability and sharing. Let's hope the idea makes many followers.

Considerati tra i fondatori del progressive rock, pubblicano l’album In The Court Of The Crimson King 1 nel 1969 con Fripp alla chitarra, Ian McDonald (1946) al sax e al mellotron, Michael Giles (1942) alla batteria, Greg Lake (1948) al basso e alla voce e Peter Sinfield (1943) nel ruolo di paroliere. I lunghi brani strutturati, gli elaborati riff suonati all’unisono e i testi di ispirazione fantastica e fiabesca non solo diventano la caratteristica principale del gruppo, ma anche gli elementi fondanti del nuovo genere. Già con il secondo lp, In The Wake Of Poseidon (1970), la formazione viene rimodellata: Mel Collins (1947) prende il posto di McDonald al sax, Gordon Haskell canta in alcuni brani (durante la lavorazione del disco Greg Lake abbandona il gruppo per andare a costituire il trio Emerson, Lake & Palmer), si aggiunge al pianoforte Keith Tippett (1947). Il gruppo si scioglie per qualche mese dopo l’incisione del disco per poi tornare, con un’altra formazione, alla fine del 1970.

There is a difference between live and studio recordings in surround: live recordings tend to be mixed according to the direct/ambient principle, while studio re- cordings are mixed according to the principle of direct-sound all around. Live recordings in surround can also often be understood as examples of documentarism, and studio recordings as examples of hyper realism. The spatial design of the surround mix tends to emphasize aspects of spatiality in the broad sense: where the recording can, for example, be interpreted as a landscape in sound.
