There are different names for Lord Shiva like Pashupatinatha, Kailashanatha etc. Vishwanatha is one of the names and the Lord here is Vishwanatha Swamy. Vishwam is the first Nama in Vishnu Sahasranama means World. The Lord who bestows Buddhi, Shakti & thought and protects the entire creation as its Leader is Vishwanatha Swamy. The Goddess here is Vishalakshi Amman. *Broad Mindedness and avoiding of narrow mind is important. One who wishes for the welfare of individual, society, village & entire world demonstrates this broad mindedness & broad vision. This is got by the blessings of Vishalakshi Amman*. The temple is located on the banks of Kamandalu Naganadi. Kamandalu is an important feature in our traditions. The renovated new Mandapam benefits devotees. People should visit temple and serve the lord. We do many things in our lives but Service to Lord is most important. We hear of Mulporikki Nayanar who use to clean the streets and keep it ready for the arrival of the Lord. Other Nayanmars were also known for their Ulavarapani (cleaning temples). We should inculcate habit of doing at least one minute of Dhyana along with Tilaka Dharanam and submitting one Bilva to the Lord- Eka Bilvam Shivarpanam. Trees like Ashvattha, Iluppai etc should be planted in villages. Hindu Samayam is very ancient & great. We should imbibe its messages and cultivate good habits. Subrahmanyan Bhujangam with Tamil translation is being released by the devotees and native of Kalpoondi village. In villages we grow paddy and other cereals, simultaneously we have to train our mind in good things and dedicate it in good prayers. God is ready to bless even those who just think of him ‘Smaranaad Arunachalam…’ but we should think of God. Generations to generations our ancestors have followed this Hindu Dharma. Bhakti should grow and everyone should get blessings of Lord. Adi Sankara says in Subrahmanyan Bhujangam that just as waves recede on reaching the shore, all difficulties subside by darshan of Subrahmanyan Swamy at Tiruchendur. The greatness of Patra Bhuti is also illustrated in the Subrahmanyan Bhujangam. This is all written in this book. Date 09-Mar-2021 Page 3 of 25 Mattu Pongal (15-Jan-2021) Acharya Swamigal visit to Kilambi- Kanu Pongal Vizha (17-Jan-2021) Acharya Swamigal visited Kilambi village to bless Kanu Pongal Vizha organised by local villagers. Acharya Swamigal first visited Adhishthanam of 60th Acharya of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Sri Advaitatmaprakashendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal. The Adhishthanam is in the midst of agricultural fields. Walking through the fields Acharya Swamigal reached the Adhishthanam & performed Puja & Harathi. Several centuries ago, in the 13th Century, the village was given as a gift to the then Shankaracharya of Sri Kanchi Math. Details of copper plate inscriptions from ‘The Copper Plate inscriptions of Sri Sankaracharya Swami of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam’ by Sri Gopinath Rao is given for reference. नारिकेलाम्रपनसतालवृन्तादिशोदितम्। अम्बिकापुिनामानं ग्रामदिन्तामद ं ििौ॥ The copper plates mention this gift of this village known as “Ambikapuram” by King Vijayaganda Chola. The village is described as Grama “Chintamani”, as a beautiful place endowed with coconut, Mango, Jack Fruit, Palm, and other trees. Many decades back, a Veda Pathashala was being run in the village with blessings of Acharya Swamigal. Kanchi Acharyas Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal & Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal had camped in the village in 1984 on their way to Kanchi from Kurnool. The Math still hold few agricultural lands and small tracts of land in the Agrahara. Pujas in the Ambikapatishwara Temple is being performed with support of the Math. Pujas at the Adhishthanam is being done by Veda Pandit from Kanchi Mutt. Acharya Swamigal graced the Pongal Vizha held in the rice mill area of a devotee and blessed the participants. Parameswara’s Vigraha with a giant Nandi amidst a beautiful garden, Shankar Math Goshala, Veda Pathashala, Nakshatra Vanam, Green Grass Cultivation Area for fresh Cow Fodder, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Artha Sastra Pathashala, Indian Culture Exhibition & Sri Kanchi Math Photo Gallery are the main features of the centre. Acharya Swamigal during visit to the Shiva Dhyana Kendra addressed the final session of Kamakshi Vilasam online lectures by Sri Manidravida Sastrigal. Acharya Swamigal spoke about Srichakra Tattvam and the glory of Kamakshi Ambal. Later Acharya Swamigal visited Goshala run by the Math wherein the cows (130) are predominantly of Desi Breed. In the mornings the cows are allowed to graze freely within the compound. The milk is being used for Chandramoulesshwara Puja & Anushthanams at Srimatam. Other products like Varatti etc is being given for havans. With the divine directions of Acharya Swamigal this centre, with involvement of devotees, has implemented Go-Grasam Project in large area to provide fresh green grass to the cows. Acharya Swamigal then visited Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Artha Sastra Pathashala building where college/university going youth are being trained in tenets of Vaidika Sanatana Dharma in the integrated system of education. The boys numbering about 80 in the Pathashala get an opportunity to study in a serene atmosphere. Acharya Swamigal then blessed the Veda Pathashala children before leaving back to Srimatam. Earlier in the day those involved in the development of Vedal Centre held discussions at Srimatam and sought blessings of Acharya Swamigal in the evening during the visit. In the present day, pursuing a saint’s life is a highly lucrative profession; easy to wear ochre robes and proclaim oneself as path finder of prosperity and heaven. There are enough superstitious suckers who fall into this trap. Women devotees unwittingly lose their chastity and hard earned money to some flamboyant sanyasis. Profile of a true saint The rishis, seers, sadhus, sanyasis, gurus and acharyas, were the storehouse of spiritual knowledge. They scrupulously followed Hindu dharma and were considered as Gods on earth. Swami Sivananda while narrating the glory of saints observes “To him (saint) the whole world is mere straw.

We, the members of the Board of Trustees of SVTC express our deep sense of gratitude and appreciation recognizing your infinite unending degree of service in many forms and shape including but not limited to your precious time, efforts in many ways in addition to an important facet of monetary contribution and support. We would like to enumerate some of the significant, noteworthy accomplishments and activities during the past year, in addition to presenting important financial information, facts related to SVTC land and resolution. Construction: It has been a major and great accomplishment to be able to start and complete the Sanctum Sanctorum (Gharbha Gudi) of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, Sri Padmavati Ammavaru and Sri Godadevi (Andal) in addition to other shrines of Sri Sathyanarayana Swamy, Sri Sudharshana and Sri Narasimha Swamy, Sri Vishvaksena, Sri Jaya, Sri Vijaya, Sri Garuda, Sri Vighneswara Swamy, Sri Shiva and Parvathi, Sri Subrahmanya Swamy and Sri Ramanuja Swamy. Construction of all of the Gopurams has been accomplished. The initial phase of Indianization has been completed. Construction of Dwajasthambam was completed in spite of significant technological, religious and structural issues to be taken into consideration. Upgraded and remodeled our coat and shoe storing facility. We would like to mention here very briefly the major events of Dwajasthamba Pratishtha, Maha Kumbhabhishekam and Prana Prathishta followed by Mandalabhishekam, the details can be viewed in the other section of the report.

These Sivalingas are formed out of one single Sivalinga. As per the legend, this five Sivalingas were one which was owned by the Rakshasa King Tarakasura. None could win over him due to the power of this Sivalinga. In a war between deities and Tarakasura, Kumara Swamy and Tarakasura were face to face. Kumara Swamy used his Sakthi aayudha to kíll Taraka. By the power of Sakti aayudha the body of Taraka was torn into pieces. But to the astonishment of Lord Kumara Swamy all the pieces reunited to give rise to Taraka. Kumara Swamy repeatedly broke the body into pieces and it was re-unified again and again. This confused Lord Kumara Swamy and was in an embarrassed state then Lord Sriman-Narayana appeared before him and said “Kumara! Don’t get depressed, without breaking the Shiva lingham worn by the asura you can’t kíll him” you should first break the Shiva lingam into pieces, then only you can kíll Taraka Lord Vishnu also said that after breaking, the shiva lingha it will try to unite. To prevent the Linga from uniting, all the pieces should be fixed in the place where they are fallen by worshiping them and erecting temples on them. By taking the word of Lord Vishnu, Lord Kumara Swamy used his Aagneasthra (weapon of fire) to break the Shiva lingha worn by Taraka, Once the Shiva lingha broke into five pieces and was trying to unite by making Omkara nada (Chanting Om).

Writing concerning this caste the Census Superintendent, 1871* records that "a book has been written by a native to show that the Pallis (Pullies or Vanniar) of the south are descendants of the fire races (Agnikulas) of the Kshatriyas, and that the Tamil Pullies were at one time the shepherd kings of Egypt." At the time of the census, 1871, a petition was submitted to Government by representatives of the caste, praying that they might be classified as Kshatriyas, and twenty years later, in con- nection with the census, 1891, a book entitled ' Vannikula ' Vilakkam : a treatise on the Vanniya caste, was compiled by Mr. T. Aiyakannu Nayakar, in support of the caste claim to be returned as Kshatriyas, for details concerning which claim I must refer the reader to the book itself. In 1907, a book entitled Varuna Darpanam (Mirror of Castes) was published, in which an attempt is made to connect the caste with the Pallavas. Kulasekhara, one of the early Travancore kings, and one of the most renowned Alwars reverenced by the Sri Vaishnava community in Southern India, is claimed by the Pallis as a king of their caste.

    THE BRAHMA PURANA In the forest known as naimisharanya. The sages (maharshis) arranged for a sacrifice (yajna) in this forest and the ceremony went on for twelve years. Naimisharanya forest was a wonderful place to arange sacrifices in. The climate was pleasant. There were trees full of flowers and fruit. There was no shortange of food in the forest, and animals, birds and sages lived there happily. Many sages ame to attend the sacrifice that had been arranged in naimisharanya. With them was Romaharshana (alternatively Lomaharshana). Vedavyasa’s disciple. Vedavyasa had instructed this disciple of his in the knowledge of the Puranas. The assembled sages worshipped the learned Romaharshana and said, Please tell us the stories of the Puranas. Who created the universe, who is its preserver and who will destroy it? Please instruct us in all these mysteries. Romaharshana replied, Many years ago, Daksha and the other sages had asked Brahma these very questions. I have learnt about Brahma’s replies from my guru (teacher) Vedvyasa. I will relate to you what I know. In the beginning , there was water everywhere and the brahman (the divine essence) slept on this water in the form of Vishnu. Since water is called nara and since ayana means a bed, Vishnu is known as Narayana. In the water there emerged a golden egg (anda). Brahma was born inside the egg. Since he created himself, he is called Svayambhu, born (bhu) by himself (svayam). For one whole year, Brahma lived inside the egg. He then split the egg into two and created heaven (svarga) and the earth (prithivi) from the two parts of the egg.
