WORTHEN ARENA • HOME COURT ADVANTAGE • CARDINAL COMMITMENT ARENA Since opening its doors in 1992, John E. Worthen Gymnasium this 2016 season. Kevin Furnish, a former three-year letterwinner for the Ball State University men’s volleyball team, is in his 17th season as his alma mater’s assistant coach.

In his previous 16 seasons, the Cardinals have compiled a 271- 140 overall record, including a 121-57 mark in MIVA action.

On Feb. 13, 2009, Furnish helped led Ball State to a 3-0 (30- 13, 30-25, 30-23) victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering to mark the program’s 1,000th overall victory.

JIM PALILONIS ASSISTANT COACH 12th Season Ball State (1996)

Heading into his second season as assistant coach for the Cardinals, Jim Palilonis continues to lead the Ball State men’s volleyball to success.

After serving as a volunteer coach for the Ball State men’s volleyball program for seven seasons, Palilonis was named an assistant coach for the Cardinals as announced by head coach Joel Walton prior to the 2014 season.

Overall, Palilonis has spent nine seasons on the Ball State men’s volleyball bench, serving as a volunteer assistant for the Cardinals during the 2002 season and again from 2007- 2013. Palilonis was also a volunteer assistant for the Ball State women’s volleyball program for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
