Judah said he would favor expenditure of money to buy land and improve Bunch Beach to provide people with an alternative place to go. That beach is reached by turning right at the Circle K convenience store on Summerlin Road. On the subject which was supposed to be his main topic of discussion, Judah said he had worked with thi Committee of the Islands to get density reductions along the Summerlin corridor into the comprehensive plan. He said he would try to get further reductions in density during amendments to that plan. Judah said the density of development in that area needs to be reduced both to facilitate hurricane evacuation from Sanibel and to reduce the runoff of pollutants into Estero Bay. There are efforts being made to four-lane Kelly Road and extend it through sensitive environmental areas to 1-75, Judah said. Kelly Road currently goes from McGregor Boulevard to San Carlos Boulevard. Instead of changing Kelly Road, Gladiolus should be straightened and improved, said Judah. He pointed out that, because it is an existing road, less damage would be done to the environment, Judah said he would like to see the county involved in the purchase of a large water conservation area
