Team American ALL • Philip Montgomery is in his third season with a 17-12 overall head coaching EAST DIVISION record with the Hurricane. USF 0-0 3-0 • Montgomery completed his second season in 2016 leading the Tulsa football UCF 0-0 1-0 program to a 10-3 record. Cincinnati 0-0 2-1 • He became the 29th head coach in school history on Dec. 11, 2014. Temple 0-0 2-1 • Montgomery claimed his first career head coaching victory in the 2015Tulsa UConn 0-0 1-1 season opener with a 47-44 overtime win over FAU. ECU 0-0 0-3 • In his first year, Montgomery led Tulsa to six wins and to the 2015 Camping World WEST DIVISION Independence Bowl. Navy 1-0 2-0 • Montgomery is the fourth coach in school history to take his first two teams to a Houston 0-0 2-0 Bowl game, and has coached 11 teams to bowl games in his 14 years as a coach.
