WHERE IN THE WORLD The Chamonix valley is situated in the NW part of the Alps, just a few miles from both the Swiss and Italian borders. Very few places match the beauty of this valley which is situ- ated near the massive peaks of the Aiguilles Rouges and the famous Aiguille du Midi. The Alps have a deep ski history and the Chamonix Valley was the host of the first-ever Winter Olympics in 1924. Noted for its rugged environment, many big mountain skiers and free-riders call Chamonix home. Don’t be surprised if you cross paths with the “Bliz- zard of Aahhh’s” star, Glen Plake!
