J. Stewart INTRODUCTION The LAVERTON* 1:250 000 map sheet (SH 51-2) is bounded by latitudes 28°00'S and 29°00'S and longitudes 121°30'E and 123°00'E. The town of Laverton, near the centre of the sheet area, is a pastoral and mining centre (chiefly gold and nickel). The sealed Leonora–Laverton road provides access from the Kalgoorlie–Wiluna road west of the sheet area. The formed Warburton Range road connects Laverton† with Warburton to the northeast. Other formed roads connect Laverton
