Summary of bus service changes in Bath & North East Somerset from 4 September 2016 Service Operator Route Summary of changes number 1 First Upper Weston – Combe Down Withdrawn but replaced by new services 2 and 8 – please see below. New 1 First Southdown – Bath Bus Station New number for existing service 10 – no change to route or timetable. 2 CT Coaches Ensleigh - Riverside Withdrawn. Park & Ride service 31 will serve all bus stops along Lansdown Road as a partial replacement and a through ticket will be available to enable passengers to transfer onto services 6 & 7 to travel to the Bus Station. New 2 First Bus Station – Combe Down New service replacing part of existing service 1, running from Dorchester Street (outside Bath Bus Station to Combe Down via Ralph Allen Drive every 30 minutes daily during the daytime and every hour in late evenings on Mondays to Saturdays. New 3 First Bathford - Foxhill New number for existing service 13 – no change to route or timetable. 4 First Kingsway - Bathampton Withdrawn but replaced by service 12 and new service 8 – please see below. New 4 First Weston – Odd Down New number for existing service 14 but with a change to the route: Cranmore Place and Banwell Road in Odd Down will be served instead by service 179. 6, 6A First Bath Bus Station – Camden – Fairfield Revised to run Bath Bus Station to Fairfield Park via Camden Crescent every 30 minutes in the Park – Larkhall – Bath Bus Station daytime on Mondays to Saturdays. During late evenings on Mondays to Saturdays and daytime on Sundays, runs as 6A as a circular from Bath Bus Station via Camden Crescent, Fairfield Park, Larkhall and Camden Crescent to Bath Bus Station. 7 First Bath Bus Station – Larkhall – Fairfield Revised to run Bath Bus Station to Larkhall via Camden Crescent every 30 minutes in the daytime Park – Camden – Bath Bus Station on Mondays to Saturdays. New 8 First Upper Weston - Kingsway New service from Upper Weston to Kingsway replacing parts of existing services 1 and 4. On Mondays to Saturdays, runs every 30 minutes in the daytime and hourly in the evenings. During daytimes on Sundays, runs every 45 minutes. When access is available for buses through the Riverside development, service 8 will be re-routed to operate through the site. 10 First Southdown – Bath Bus Station Renumbered 1 but no change to route or timetable. 12 Wessex Bus Haycombe Cemetery – Bathampton Extended from Bath Bus Station to Bathampton to replace that part of service 4. To operate every 40 minutes during the daytime on Mondays to Saturdays. 13 First Bathford - Foxhill Renumbered 3 but no change to route or timetable. 14 First Weston – Odd Down Renumbered 4 – please see above – with a change to the route: Cranmore Place and Banwell Road in Odd Down will be served instead by service 179. 15 First Bath Spa University – Bath Bus Station Renumbered U5 but no change to the route or timetable until the start of the academic term. 16 First Bath Spa University – Twerton Mill – Renumbered U6 but no change to the route or timetable until the start of the academic term. Newbridge – Bath Spa University 17 First Southmead - Keynsham Revised timetable. Frequency between Southmead and Kingswood during the daytime on Mondays to Saturdays increased from hourly to half-hourly as partial replacement for service 17A. New 17 Wessex Bus University of Bath – Southdown (loop) Starting 25 September, new service replacing services U18. Will run from University of Bath via Bathwick Hill, Great Pulteney Street, Pulteney Bridge, City Centre, Midland Bridge Road, then a loop via Lower Bristol Road, Twerton, Poolemead Road, Whiteway, Mount Road, Southdown, Englishcombe Lane, Coronation Avenue, Oldfield Park, Lower Oldfield Park, Pines Way and the revers of the above to University of Bath. Will run every 15 – 20 minutes daily. 17A First Southmead – Keynsham Withdrawn. Frequency of service 17 between Southmead and Kingswood increased from hourly to half-hourly during daytimes on Mondays to Saturdays as partial replacement. New18 Wessex Bus University of Bath – Oldfield Park (loop) Starting 25 September, new service during University of Bath terms replacing service U18. Will operate via Pulteney Bridge instead of North Parade Road. Will run at least every 10 minutes during University terms. 20A, Wessex Bus University of Bath – City Centre – Weston Revised timetable. 20C, 20R – Twerton – University of Bath 21 First Newbridge Park & Ride site – Bath City Revised timetable – will operate every 20 minutes after 1930 on Mondays to Saturdays. Weekend Centre return fare increased to £3 but group ticket available for 2 passengers travelling together for £5.50. 31 First Lansdown Park & Ride site – Bath City Will observe all bus stops in Lansdown Road as partial replacement for service 2. Revised Centre timetable – will operate every 20 minutes after 1930 on Mondays to Saturdays. Weekend return fare increased to £3 but group ticket available for 2 passengers travelling together for £5.50. 37, 37A First Bath - Bristol Re-routed between Bath and Willsbridge via Saltford and Keynsham, except for certain journeys that will continue to run via Bitton – these will be numbered 37A. 38 First Bath – Bristol On Mondays to Saturdays, daytime frequency reduced from half-hourly to hourly. Withdrawn in the evenings and on Sundays. A limited replacement will be provided in the evenings on service A4 – please see below. 39 First Bath - Bristol Revised timetable. Increased from hourly to half-hourly on Monday to Saturday evenings and from half-hourly to every 20 minutes during the daytime on Sundays. 41 First Odd Down Park & Ride site – Bath City Revised timetable – will operate every 20 minutes after 1930 on Mondays to Saturdays. Weekend Centre return fare increased to £3 but group ticket available for 2 passengers travelling together for £5.50. 42 Abus / Wessex Bus Odd Down Park & Ride site – Royal Change of operator from Abus to Wessex Bus. Flexible route in Southdown and Twerton United Hospital withdrawn owing to very low use. The 0730, 0800 and 0830 departures from Odd Down will run 5 minutes earlier. The 1600 and 1635 departures from the RUH will run 5 minutes later. Adult fares will be increased to £2.20 single and £3.30 return. RUH staff will be entitled to discounted fares. 67 Abus West Harptree - Bristol Route amended in central Bristol to terminate in Union Street and pick up at stop Sk in The Horsefair. 82, 82A Somerbus / Radstock (Tyning) – Paulton Change of operator from Somerbus to Frome Minibuses. Saturday service withdrawn. No change Frome Minibuses to existing timetable on Mondays to Fridays. New 171 First Peasedown St John – Bath New service replacing main part of existing service 175 between CircleBath Hospital at Peasedown St John and Bath. Will run hourly on Mondays to Fridays between 0600 and 1800. New 172 First Paulton - Bath New service via Old Mills Tesco, Midsomer Norton, Westfield, Radstock and Peasedown St John replacing part of services 178 & 379. Will run every 30 minutes in the daytime Mondays to Saturdays and hourly in the evenings and on Sundays. Some early morning and evening buses will run beyond Paulton to/from Wells via Farrington Gurney and Chewton Mendip. 173 First Bath – Wells Revised timetable. Sunday service withdrawn but partly replaced by 174. 174 First Bath - Wells Re-routed in both directions in Midsomer Norton to run via Silver Street, South Road and High Street, to serve the bus stop outside the Library. Introduced on Sundays to operate hourly during the daytime between Bath and Wells, replacing part of service 173. 175 Somerbus Peasedown St John - Bath Withdrawn but replaced between Peasedown St John and Bath by new service 171 – please see above. Peak hour extensions to/from Midsomer Norton and Clutton not replaced. 178 First Bristol – Radstock - Bath Withdrawn between Radstock and Bath but that section replaced by new service 172 – please see above. Will no longer run via Tesco in Midsomer Norton. Also re-routed in Keynsham to run direct via Wellsway instead of the Chandag Road area. Late night buses and Sunday service withdrawn. Last bus from Bristol will be at 1925 on Mondays to Fridays and 1910 on Saturdays. Last bus from Radstock will be at 2005 on Mondays to Fridays and 1937 on Saturdays. 179 First Bath - Writhlington Re-routed to run via Banwell Road and Cranmore Place in Odd Down. Also re-routed between High Littleton and Paulton to run via Hallatrow and Farrington Gurney. Revised timetable. Late night buses withdrawn except for the last bus from Bath on Fridays and Saturdays. Last bus from Writhlington to Bath will be at 1810 on Mondays to Saturdays and 1636 on Sundays. Last bus from Bath to Writhlington will be at 1940 on Mondays to Thursdays, 2300 on Fridays & Saturdays and 1800 on Sundays. 228 Faresaver Bath – Colerne - Bath The 1030 Bath – Colerne – Bath journey on Saturdays will depart at 1100 and run 30 minutes later throughout. 349 Abus Keynsham – Bristol Revised timetable, co-ordinated as far as possible with First service 38. One morning peak journey to Bristol and one afternoon return journey extended in Keynsham to start/finish at Courtenay Road via Chandag Road. 379 First Bristol – Radstock - Bath Withdrawn. Parts of route replaced by new service 172 and services 179 & 768. 620 Wessex Bus / Old Sodbury – Bath Change of operator from Wessex Bus to Stagecoach. Revised timetable with additional journey on Stagecoach Saturday mornings to provide arrival in Bath at 0845 672 Buglers / Abus Blagdon – Bristol All journeys except the 1810 ex Bristol will be operated by Abus instead of Buglers. Re-routed in Bristol City Centre from Bristol Bridge to terminate in Union Street.
