Frequently Asked Questions for the Maritime Fair cum Government Dockyard Open Day

General information

1. Q When will the Maritime Fair cum Government Dockyard Open Day be held? A The Maritime Fair cum Government Dockyard Open Day will be held on October 30, 2010 (Saturday). Admission ticket holders will be admitted to the Government Dockyard for the event according to the morning or afternoon session printed on their tickets.

2. Q Are there the morning and afternoon sessions? A Yes, there are two admission sessions: The morning session is from 10am to 1pm; and the afternoon one from 2pm to 5pm.

3. Q Any entrance fee for the event? A Admission is free.

Admission arrangements for the general public

4. Q Are tickets required for admission? A To enable the event to proceed smoothly, all interested in joining the event must get the free admission tickets beforehand. Also, for safety concern, admission is only for those tickets holders aged 10 or above.

5. Q How to get the admission tickets? A Free admission tickets will be available at the Central Marine Office (3/F, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central), Aberdeen Marine Office (100A Shek Pai Wan Road) and Sai Kung Marine Office (4/F, Sai Kung Government Offices Building) of the Marine Department and the Public Enquiry Service Centre of the District Office (G/F, Government Offices, 303 ) during opening hours from October 6, 2010 (Wednesday) on a first-come, first-served basis.

Opening hours (Mondays to Fridays): Central Marine Office: 8.30am to 12.30pm; 2pm to 4.30pm Aberdeen Marine Office: 8.30am to 12.30pm; 2pm to 4.30pm Sai Kung Marine Office: 8.30am to 12.45pm; 2pm to 5.45pm Public Enquiry Service Centre of Office: 9am to 7pm

6. Q Are there any restrictions on admission and getting the tickets? A z For safety concern, admission is only for those ticket holders aged 10 or above; z Each person can get a maximum of four tickets at a time.

7. Q Will there be any group visits? A Sorry, group visits will not be entertained.

Transportation

8. Q How to get to the Government Dockyard? A Ticket holders aged 10 or above can go to the Government Dockyard by using the free coach/ferry services provided. Ticket holders can board upon production of the tickets. The services shuttle them between the pick-up points and the Government Dockyard. The frequency is: The coach service at an interval of 10 to 15 minutes.

(i) Cheung Sha Wan MTR Station (Exit A1) There will be a pick-up point in .

(ii) Mei Foo MTR Station (Exit B) There will be a pick-up point on Mei Lai Road near Po Leung Kuk Tong Nai Kan College.

(iii) The First Ferry Pier in Wan Chai

Visitors can also go to the Government Dockyard by the green minibus no.44M near MTR Station (Exit A). The fare is $4.

9. Q Can we go to the Government Dockyard by our own cars? A Due to narrow roads near the Government Dockyard and a large number of visitors expected, no drop-off area will be designated for private cars in the vicinity of the Government Dockyard. The public is advised to make use of the free coach/ferry services plying between Cheung Sha Wan/Mei Foo MTR Stations or the First Ferry Pier in Wan Chai and the Government Dockyard.

10. Q Are parking spaces in the Government Dockyard available for private cars and bicycles? A No parking spaces will be available for private cars and bicycles.
