March 2018 GREECE Sea Arrivals Dashboard Overview So far in 2018, a total of 5,330 refugees and migrants arrived in Greece by sea. The majority are from Syria (38%), 5,330 Iraq (27%) and Afghanistan (12%). More than half of the sea arrivals January to March 2018 1 population are women (22%) and children (38%), while 40% are men. In March, refugees and migrants arrived on six islands. Lesvos receives the highest numbers of people from Syria and Afghanistan over the overall number of sea arrivals in Greece in 2018, whilst Chios mainly receives family groups from Syria and Iraq.
