2016 Hallmark Dreambook 2016 CHRISTMAS. IT’S SO MUCH BIGGER THAN AN EVE, OR A DAY. It’s about the anticipation that builds weeks in advance, the décor that transforms our homes, and the culmination of the sights, sounds and people we love. But more than that, it’s about all the moments that led us to right here—the experiences that inspire every ornament our Keepsake Artists craft and create, and the memories that are shared as each creation is hung on the tree. From commemorating long-awaited firsts to celebrating a milestone to simply decorating in a favorite theme, nothing gets to the heart of the moments that truly matter like Keepsake Ornaments. • Attachment Anxiety: Parenting Culture, Adolescence and the Family Film in the US
Abstract Attachment anxiety: parenting culture, adolescence and the family film in the US Many authors have noted a connection between notions of childhood and understandings of parenting; however, debates have focused only on adults and their behaviour. This article interrogates the child’s position in contemporary parenting culture using the Hollywood family film to explore how the cultural constructions of childhood and parenting may influence one another. The article analyses the reception of the family film of the 1990s and its representations of families and children to note a cultural response to the previous decade’s “discovery” of the pre-teen demographic. This response highlighted the incompatibility of young adolescence and attachment parenting, constructing a new childhood ideal which returned the child to assumptions of vulnerability. Keywords: Parenting culture, attachment, childhood, adolescence, Hollywood, family film Over the past three decades, a number of authors have examined western parenting culture. Among the most influential is Sharon Hays, who identified a dominant ideology of “intensive mothering” and explained it as the result of a series of social developments beginning with “the earliest discovery of childhood innocence in Western Europe” (1996Hays, S. (1996). The cultural contradictions of motherhood. New Haven, CT: Yale University Press., p. 22). The relationship between changes in notions of childhood and changes in understandings of parenting has been noted by several other authors, who linked contemporary parenting culture with “the way society regards children. Babies and infants are seen as both intensely vulnerable and highly impressionable – above all to parental influence” (Furedi, 2001Furedi, F. (2001). Paranoid parenting: Abandon your Anxieties and be a good parent.

  • Trumpet March 2011 Lms Pam
THE TRUMPET LAWRENCE MIDDLE SCHOOL/MARCH 2011/VOLUME 6 SPECIAL REMINDER KEEP LMS PEANUT AND NUT FREE By Brianna Burbia and Remy Geier Lawrence Middle School is peanut free. Students are not allowed to bring peanuts or items containing peanuts to school. More than one notice has gone home about peanut awareness and the way in which peanuts and tree nuts are not allowed in the building under any circumstances. The cafeteria, school store and vending machines do not contain items with peanuts in them. LMS is peanut free because many kids have allergies to peanuts; they could suffer from an allergic reaction. What causes an allergic reaction? An allergic reaction occurs when someone’s immune system wrongly thinks that something harmless, such as a tree nut, is actually harmful to the body. Special antibodies, called immunoglobulin E (IgE), are created to fight off the invading proteins in that food. IgE antibodies trigger the release of special chemicals into the body. One of the chemicals is histamine. It can affect a person’s respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, skin and cardiovascular system. This may cause the effects of an allergic reaction, wheezing, stomachache, vomiting, itching, LMS Friendly Snacks hives and swelling. It could even result in death. One of the most common allergies is the tree nut allergy. Many students that attend Lawrence Middle School have a peanut allergy. Many teachers, including Mr. Lee Araoz, Mrs. Lisa King and Mr. Peter Sebor have children at home with peanut and other allergies. Why shouldn't you bring peanuts or items containing peanuts to school? You could cause an allergic reaction.

Title: Imagining the Future into Reality: An Interdisciplinary Exploration of The Jetsons. Abstract approved: _____________________________________________________ Eric Hill This investigation examines The Jetsons’ vision of the future and tracks to what extent the content of the show is relevant to the modern era, both technologically and socially. Much of the dazzling technology in the show feels familiar, and most of it is either already available or is in development, so the innovations of the present are largely keeping pace with the show’s vision. Culturally, the show reflects the values of the era in which it was created (in the 1960s), and despite the show’s somewhat dated outlook on culture and society, we can still empathize and see our own modern experiences reflected back at us through an animated futuristic lens. Therefore, The Jetsons serves as a touchstone for our hopes for the future as well as the experiences of the past and the values and goals of the

SEASON CONTENT ART PRODUCTIONS & ADDITIONAL THEATRE EVENTS TICKETING & BOX OFFICE INFORMATION FILM & TELEVISION WELCOME TO THE 2019-20 SEASON! It’s July 2019 and I have just arrived in Tucson after a cross-country drive to begin an exciting adventure as the Director of the School of Theatre, Film & Television. As I write, our stages and rehearsal halls are quiet; our screening rooms and editing suites are dark; our working shops and classrooms are restocked and ready. Soon they will thrum with the creative life of a next generation of artists, young souls we faculty and staff are so privileged to guide for a few years on their journey to big lives of artistry – no matter their chosen profession. Soon, I will meet many of you and come to know the University of Arizona and Tucson as my home. For me it’s an exciting time of new visions, new relationships, and great work waiting to be done. Here, in the pages of this brochure, we invite Andy Belser, Director you, our treasured audiences, to witness our students as they meet you on stage, School of Theatre, Film and Television screen and page with their emerging skills of artistry and scholarship. At times of transition, I go to poetry. I offer this touch of Pablo Neruda’s “La Poesia” as a reminder for our students, and for us all, to begin each day and year wide open and ready for surprise. Anything can happen. and I wrote the first bare line, bare, without substance, pure foolishness, pure wisdom of one who knows nothing, and suddenly I saw the heavens unfastened and open.

Fred, a quarry equipment operator, SS# 123-45-6789 came in and deposited 8,500 in cash which was his cash bonus from recent quarterly quarry sales. Later in the day, Wilma SS# 987-65-4321 brought in 2,500.50 in cash from the sale of her rock necklaces from the weekend craft show along with 555.75 in checks. She took $500.15 of the cash to purchase a bank check to pay tuition for Pebbles to attend 4H, Happy Horned Toads, pet camp with her pet, Dino. She then took $75 cash from Pebbles’ account 9-321-7, to pay for vaccinations for Dino so that he is eligible to attend camp. After school that day, Pebbles also came to the bank with some friends to deposit $25.00 in coin to her savings account which was her portion of profit from Shamrock sales by the 4H club as a fundraiser for camp. Pebbles’ SS is 456-98-7321 no DL, her student ID from Bedrock Jr Hi is on file as well as her birth certificate. Fred and Wilma are co-owners with Pebbles on the savings account. As it happened, Fred had written a check to his fellow lodge brother, Barney Rubble, for his share of the recent St Patrick’s Day bowling party they hosted for the lodge. Barney brought the check to be cashed on the same day, 4/1/2013, as the other transactions.
