Chevrolet joins 2015 Pan/ as Official Vehicle Partner

TORONTO, November 8, 2011—Ian Troop, Chief Executive Officer of the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan Am Games Organizing Committee (TO2015), today announced a comprehensive four-year partnership agreement with Chevrolet Canada, making Chevrolet a Premier Partner and the exclusive automotive partner of the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games.

―Chevrolet shares our vision to create a better ,‖ said Troop. ―A focus on families, combined with a wealth of transportation experience and a reliable track record at multi-sport games, makes Chevrolet an ideal partner for the Toronto 2015 Games.‖

Greater area athletes including Taylor Paris and Tyler Ardron (2011 Pan American gold medallists, ), Jason Burnett (2008 Olympic silver medallist, trampoline) and Summer Mortimer (world record holder, para-) were on hand for an event at the TO2015 head office celebrating the announcement.

―The partnership with the Pan/Parapan Am Games allows Chevrolet to be part of an event that will inspire and engage a generation of Canadians,‖ said Kevin W. As the official vehicle partner of the Games, Chevrolet is providing 1,000 vehicles— sedans, passenger vans, SUVs and trucks—to be used by organizers and volunteers leading up to and during the Games. The sustainable fleet will include electric vehicles with extended range, hybrids, vehicles with eAssist technologies and flex fuel-capable vehicles. The majority of the 1,000 vehicles supplied will have one or more of these advanced green technologies which are on the road today helping Chevrolet customers reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

The is one of the world's largest international multi-sport events, held every four years for athletes of the 41 member nations of the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO).
