KARL QUADE Chef de Mission Vizepräsident Leistungssport DBS Liebe Leserinnen und Leser, Sie halten die aktuelle Broschüre der deutschen Paralym- pischen Mannscha für die XIV. Paralympischen Spiele in London in Ihren Händen. Die Spiele werden demnach end- lich beginnen. Nach langer Vorbereitung kämp unsere Mannscha wie- der um paralympische Ehren. Mehr denn je wird die Öf- fentlichkeit an diesen Paralympischen Spielen teilnehmen. Die in alle Welt übermi elten Bilder und Berichte werden von Siegen und Niederlagen herausragender Athle nnen und Athleten erzählen und vor allem von der emo onalen und integra ven Kra des Sports. Die We kämpfe sind von einer enormen Leistungsdichte geprägt, so dass wir äußerst knappe Entscheidungen und somit spannende We kämpfe erleben werden. Die deutsche Mannscha besteht aus erfahrenen und er- folgreichen Athle nnen und Athleten, aber auch die ver- stärkte Nachwuchsarbeit macht sich im Team bemerkbar. Die Arbeit des Deutschen Behindertensportverbandes zielt darauf, rechtzei g junge Krä e auszubilden und an die Weltspitze heranzuführen. Ich freue mich, dass es viele junge Athle nnen und Athleten gescha haben, sich trotz der hohen Normen für dieses Team zu qualifi zieren. Spezi- ell für die Unterstützung dieser Gruppe geht mein Dank an die Landesverbände, Vereine und die vielen Menschen im Hintergrund. Der paralympische Sport in Deutschland steht für einen do- pingfreien, sauberen Sport. Unsere Athle nnen und Ath- 4 leten sind Vorbilder und Botscha er für Spitzenleistung, Fairplay, Freundscha und Verständigung. Ich bin der festen Überzeugung, dass unsere Mannscha die Chance einer sympathischen Darstellung Deutschlands in der Welt nutzen wird. Ich wünsche unseren Sportlerinnen und Sportlern in Lon- don von Herzen, dass sie ihre persönlichen sportlichen Ziele erreichen und gleichzei g die einzigar ge Faszina on Para- lympischer Spiele erleben. Für mich sind es die fün en Paralympischen Sommer- spiele, bei denen ich die Ehre habe in dieser Funk on teil- zunehmen. Wie schon bei den anderen Teilnahmen waren die Monate davor geprägt durch viel Arbeit und voll von neugieriger Erwartung. Mit der Eröff nungsfeier in London beginnen zwölf Tage, an denen die paralympischen Sport- lerinnen und Sportler im Mi elpunkt des öff entlichen In- teresses stehen und unseren Sport mit tollen Leistungen präsen eren. Ich hoff e aber auch, dass das Interesse am Paralympischen Sport in der Folgezeit nicht nachlässt und so die Öff entlichkeit nachhal g die Spitzenleistungen der Athle nnen und Athleten verfolgen kann. ABSTRACT The history of the British Army in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars is generally associated with stories of British military victory and the campaigns of the Duke of Wellington. An intrinsic aspect of the historiography is the argument that, following British defeat in the Low Countries in 1795, the Army was transformed by the military reforms of His Royal Highness, Frederick Duke of York. This thesis provides a critical appraisal of the reform process with reference to the organisation, structure, ethos and learning capabilities of the British Army and evaluates the impact of the reforms upon British military performance in the Low Countries, in the period 1793 to 1814, via a series of narrative reconstructions. This thesis directly challenges the transformation argument and provides a re-evaluation of British military competency in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.

A request for a correction has been received from Winckworth Sherwood on behalf of the Appellant’s in respect of the Secretary of State’s decision letter on the above case dated 3 June 2020. This request was made before the end of the relevant period for making such corrections under section 56 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (the Act), and a decision has been made by the Secretary of State to correct the error. 2. There is a clear typographical error in the IR, specifically at IR12.18 where there is an incorrect reference to Phase 4 when the intention was to refer to Phase 3. The correction relates to this reference only and is reflected in the revised Inspector’s report attached to this letter. 3. Under the provisions of section 58(1) of the Act, the effect of the correction referred to above is that the original decision is taken not to have been made. The decision date for this appeal is the date of this notice, and an application may be made to the High Court within six weeks from the day after the date of this notice for leave to bring a statutory review under section 288 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

Resh Spring 2012 i Abstract Multifunctional Riverscapes by Kristen Nicole Podolak Doctor of Philosophy in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning University of California, Berkeley Professor G. Mathias Kondolf, Chair Society is investing in river restoration and urban river revitalization as a solution for sustainable development. Many of these river projects adopt a multifunctional planning and design approach that strives to meld ecological, aesthetic, and recreational functions. However our understanding of how to accomplish multifunctionality and how the different functions work together is incomplete. Numerous ecologically justified river restoration projects may actually be driven by aesthetic and recreational preferences that are largely unexamined. At the same time river projects originally designed for aesthetics or recreation are now attempting to integrate habitat and environmental considerations to make the rivers more sustainable. Through in-depth study of a variety of constructed river landscapes - including dense historical river bend designs, artificial whitewater, and urban stream restoration this dissertation analyzes how aesthetic, ecological, and recreational functions intersect and potentially conflict. To explore how aesthetic and biophysical processes work together in riverscapes, I explored the relationship between one ideal of beauty, an s-curve illustrated by William Hogarth in the 18th century and two sets of river designs: 18th century river designs in England and late 20th century river restoration designs in North America.

    Welcoming Remarks

    WELCOMING REMARKS A very warm welcome to the International ECA Junior Cup 2018! The Eiskanal in Augsburg is once again the setting for this year’s International ECA Junior Cup. This slalom event for up-and-coming athletes has for many years been a firm fixture in the schedule of competitions organised by the German Canoeing Federation (DKV). On 23 and 24 July 2018, Augsburg’s Eiskanal – the ‘mother of all artificial canoe slalom courses’ – will play host to the next generation of athletes, who will join battle to determine the winner in the various classes. As Chairman of the German Canoeing Federation (DKV), I would like to extend a warm welcome, both personally and on behalf of the Board, to all the participants, all the helpers and officials, and hopefully to many, many spectators. Once again, young sportswomen and sportsmen from more than 15 countries will be joining us here for this international event, putting their skills to the test against ourathletes aged between 12 and 17. Besides the German National Championships, this Cup is therefore one of the highlights of the canoeing season for our juniors here in Germany. However, it is also important that this event brings another highlight to Augsburg as a location for canoeing, thus maintaining the appeal of our sport and the course in Augsburg alike. I would like to express my thanks to the board and the many volunteer helpers of the Augsburger Kajak Verein, and also to the officials of the City of Augsburg and the sponsors whose support makes this event possible.

The headquarters was based at Horse Guards, London. It covered the County of London, and the Guards Depots at Caterham, Windsor and Pirbright. The General Commanding London District also held the post of Major General Commanding, Brigade of Guards. The role of the District was to provide the troops for the ceremonial and guarding duties within the capital city of the United Kingdom, being the seat of the Royal Family and H.M. Government. The District also administered the large number of units within the Territorial Army that were based in London.

Juni 2016 Die deutschen Nationalmannschaften Deutsche Damen präsentieren sich großartig Platz zwei punktglich hinter Gastgeber USA (aj) Auch wenn die deutsche Rollstuhlbasketball-Nationalmannschaft der Damen lange Zeit den Sieg beim Vier-Nationen-Turnier in Lake Placid vor Augen hatte, Platz zwei bei diesem hochklassig besetzten Test im US-Bundesstaat New York ist im Vorfeld der XV. Paralympics vom 7. bis 19. September in Rio de Janeiro ein Hauptsponsor des deutschen Rollstuhlbasketball großartiges Ergebnis für das Team Germany. Vier Spiele lang war der amtierende Europameister in den Adirondack Mountains ungeschlagen, ehe er der langen Testspielreise, die vor zwei Wochen im französischen Lyon begann kräftemäßig Tribut zollen musste und das zweite Spiel gegen Gastgeber USA deutlich verlor. Die US-Girls ihrerseits gewannen am Ende das Turnier aufgrund des besseren direkten Vergleichs gegen die Gäste aus Premiumpartner Deutschland. „Wir haben ohne unsere beiden Lowpointer Simone Kues und Annabel Breuer einen starken Auftritt gezeigt, am Ende ist uns ganz verständlich die Kraft etwas ausgegangen. Spielerisch haben uns die intensiven Tage hier aber einen wichtigen Schritt weitergebracht“, so Bundestrainer Holger Glinicki kurz vor der Rückreise überaus zufrieden in seinem Fazit. Dezember 2015 Deutsches Damen-Nationalteam ist Mannschaft des Jahres 2015 Die deutschen Galaabend im Deutschen Sport & Olympia Museum in Köln Nationalmannschaften (aj) Zusammen mit den Wintersportlern Anna Schaffelhuber und Georg Kreiter ist die deutsche Rollstuhlbasketball-Nationalmannschaft der Damen am Samstagabend in Köln zur Mannschaft 2015 des Deutschen Behindertensportverbandes (DBS) gekürt worden. Vor rund 400 geladenen Gästen aus Sport, Wirtschaft und Medien nahm Kapitän Marina Mohnen stellvertretend für die gesamte Europameisterschaft um Trainer Holger Glinicki den Pokal für diese Auszeichnung entgegen. Bei den diesjährigen Europameisterschaften im britischen in Worcester konnte Hauptsponsor des deutschen Rollstuhlbasketball sich das Team im Finale gegen Titelverteidiger Niederlande durchsetzen und gewann Gold. Für die deutschen Rollstuhlbasketballerinnen war es der neunte EM-Titel und der bereits siebte Titel bei der traditionellen Sportlerwahl des Deutschen Behindertensportverbandes. Das erfolgreiche Team in Großbritannien bildeten Annabel Breuer, Linda Dahle, Heike Friedrich, Laura Fürst, Anna Gerwinat, Barbara Groß, Maya Lindholm, Marina Mohnen, Anne Premiumpartner Patzwald, Gesche Schünemann, Johanna Welin, Annika Zeyen.
