The purpose of the WRMP is to set out a minimum 25-year strategy for managing water supply and demand within the Anglian Water region. In accordance with European Directive 2001/42/EC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora (the ‘Habitats Directive’) and the resulting Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017, a Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) is required to assess the potential impact of plans and programmes to ensure that there will not be any ‘likely significant effects’ (LSE) on sites of European nature conservation importance. This report presents the results of the first task of the HRA process, the Task I: Screening (or Test of Likely Significance). Development of the WRMP As part of the WRMP development process Anglian Water undertook modelling to identify areas with a surplus or deficit of water supply.
