a 3 Strategic Marketing Plan for the OpenOffice.org office productivity 4 suitei. Its publication is timed to coincide with the OpenOffice.org 5 Conference 2004 (OOoCon 2004). Previous versions have had 6 restricted circulation within the OpenOffice.org Marketing Project; this 7 version launches the consultation process with the whole 8 OpenOffice.org Community, aiming for a formal submission to the 9 Community Council at the end of 2004. 10 The Plan looks at the current market for office productivity suites, at 11 the major players in the field, and seeks to identify trends which will 12 influence the market over the next five years. It looks at 13 OpenOffice.org's place within the market now, and where it should 14 aim to be by 2010. 15 The analysis looks at the strengths and weaknesses of the 16 OpenOffice.org suite and of the Community, and how these should 17 help influence the Community's response to opportunities and threats 18 in the marketplace. 19 It also looks in detail at the features of OpenOffice.org and the 20 benefits these deliver to customers. From this analysis, the Plan 21 identifies a number of target markets whose needs are most closely 22 matched by the benefits provided by OpenOffice.org. 23 Finally, the Plan sets targets for penetration by OpenOffice.org into 24 these target markets, and lists the main strategies which the 25 Marketing Project will use to achieve these goals. It looks at the 26 governance of the Community, and the changes necessary for it to be 27 able to deliver the Plan. Subsequent versions will give implementation 28 milestones for the five years of the Plan. 29 The authors would like to thank all the members of the Marketing 30 Project and other Community members who have contributed to this 31 Plan to date. We look forward to starting a vigorous debate at OOoCon 32 2004 in Berlin. As the Plan evolves, the latest version will be available 33 on the Marketing Project web site http://marketing.openoffice.org. 34 Comments and contributions are always invited to the Marketing 35 Project's strategy discussion forum - see the Project pages for an 36 archive

  • Creating an Accessible PDF File from a Neooffice Text Document
Creating an Accessible PDF File from a NeoOffice Text Document Opening Welcome to Accessibility in the MLTI, your how-to source for making ed tech accessible for students with disabilities. I'm Cynthia Curry. Introduction Today, it is my pleasure to walk you through the tools and features of a NeoOffice Text document that you will need if you plan to convert it to an accessible PDF file. For a complete and, hopefully, compelling explanation of why accessible PDF is important, please refer to my previous podcast entitled, “Time to Think About the Accessibility of PDF Files.” And for an overview of what makes any word processing file worthy of being converted to accessible PDF, regardless of the program, please refer to my podcast, “The 'Dos and Don'ts’ of Creating Accessible PDF from a Word Processing File.” That podcast will give you the 'in's and 'out's, regardless of your word processor of choice. Tools and Features of NeoOffice Text Documents Other word processing tools that I’ll address in future podcasts include Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac and Pages 08. Today, our focus is NeoOffice Text files. 1. Applying Styles First, recall that the most important part of creating an accessible PDF file from any word processor is to rely on your program's Styles. Applying Styles to your document creates a consistent and predictable format and layout for all users, particularly those who will access your document using assistive technology. To open the Styles and Formatting window in NeoOffice, choose Format from the main menu and then Styles and Formatting.

[email protected] onlyoffice.com Key problems of the Lao government IT infrastructure Laos is a developing country, and the existing IT infrastructure of its government comes up against three main problems: • no effective file sharing because all types of government documents are usually kept on personal PCs or USB drives; • lack of real-time collaboration among government officials across the organization; • unavailability of document editing on mobile devices. As a software provider officially trusted by the government, SB LAB 856 uses ONLYOFFICE to handle these challenges by providing government agencies and ministries with cloud-based document storage, online document editing and real-time co-editing capabilities.

  • Free Download Openoffice for Win 10 Openoffice
free download openoffice for win 10 OpenOffice. Like LibreOffice, OpenOffice.org remains a secure solution for those looking for a free, cross-platform office suite. OpenOffice ambition is to provide ergonomics and functionality for most users, whether they are individuals, companies or public organizations. Completely free, OpenOffice is a complete office suite that combines word processor, spreadsheet and presentation tool. Originally published by Sun and then by Oracle, the suite is now being developed by the Apache Foundation. The project consists of the development of a cross-platform office suite available for Windows, macOS and Linux. OpenOffice can associate open file formats with file formats designed under the Microsoft Office suite. Like LibreOffice, OpenOffice is considered a strong free and credible competitor to Microsoft Office and offers a set of 6 tools: * Writer - a full word processor for designing text documents, letters or resumes; * Calc - a complete spreadsheet for calculating, analyzing and presenting spreadsheets, graphs and data classification; * Draw - a tool dedicated to creating diagrams or communication media; * Database - a software for managing databases, creating and modifying tables, forms and queries; * Impress - the tool for creating slide shows and interactive and multimedia presentations; * Math - a software to create complex mathematical equations. OpenOffice has a clean interface and is compatible with all versions of Microsoft Office and has a spelling checker, except that it is not enabled by default because a dictionary must be installed. With OpenOffice Draw you can create vector drawings to integrate into documents or presentations. At the same time, OpenOffice offers a database management system called Base.

OSS has redefined the dynamics of software markets in the three countries and has brought significant structural changes in their software industries. Governments have played a pivotal role in the development of OSS industry in the region. Governments in the three countries have also created impetus for continental collaborations in OSS projects. This paper examines the roles and contributions of governments to the OSS initiative in the three countries in terms of a number of technology visions and goals. • On the Numerical Accuracy of Spreadsheets
JSS Journal of Statistical Software April 2010, Volume 34, Issue 4. http://www.jstatsoft.org/ On the Numerical Accuracy of Spreadsheets Marcelo G. Almiron Bruno Lopes Alyson L. C. Oliveira Universidade Federal Universidade Federal Universidade Federal de Alagoas de Alagoas de Alagoas Antonio C. Medeiros Alejandro C. Frery Universidade Federal Universidade Federal de Alagoas de Alagoas Abstract This paper discusses the numerical precision of five spreadsheets (Calc, Excel, Gnu- meric, NeoOffice and Oleo) running on two hardware platforms (i386 and amd64) and on three operating systems (Windows Vista, Ubuntu Intrepid and Mac OS Leopard). The methodology consists of checking the number of correct significant digits returned by each spreadsheet when computing the sample mean, standard deviation, first-order autocorrelation, F statistic in ANOVA tests, linear and nonlinear regression and distribu- tion functions. A discussion about the algorithms for pseudorandom number generation provided by these platforms is also conducted. We conclude that there is no safe choice among the spreadsheets here assessed: they all fail in nonlinear regression and they are not suited for Monte Carlo experiments. Keywords: numerical accuracy, spreadsheet software, statistical computation, OpenOffice.org Calc, Microsoft Excel, Gnumeric, NeoOffice, GNU Oleo. 1. Numerical accuracy and spreadsheets Spreadsheets are widely used as statistical software platforms, and the results they provide frequently support strategical information. Spreadsheets intuitive visual interfaces are pre- ferred by many users and, despite their weak numeric behavior and programming support (Segaran and Hammerbacher 2009, p. 282), as said by B. D. Ripley in the 2002 Conference of the Royal Statistical Society opening lecture \Statistical Methods Need Software: A View of Statistical Computing"): 2 On the Numerical Accuracy of Spreadsheets Let's not kid ourselves: the most widely used piece of software for statistics is Excel.
