Howard Lee President and General Manager, TLC

20-year Discovery veteran Howard Lee is President and General Manager of TLC. In this role, Lee oversees all aspects of the network’s programming, production, development, digital, communications and marketing in the U.S. Since joining TLC in 2008, Lee has served in increasingly senior creative positions for the brand, which is currently the #1 network for women aged 25-54 in cable primetime.

Overseeing TLC’s entire development and programming slate, Lee has played a vital role in strengthening the network’s pop culture buzz and female audience growth, with 1Q 2019 ushering in the best quarterly performance in 16 years among women aged 25-54. Among numerous hit series to his credit, Lee developed 90 DAY FIANCÉ and its spinoffs, and has launched tent-pole franchises such as , , and .

Lee oversees hundreds of hours of original series and specials including the breakout hit DR. PIMPLE POPPER, Emmy-nominated WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?, LITTLE PEOPLE BIG WORLD, LONG LOST FAMILY, , MY 600-LB LIFE, OUTDAUGHTERED, KATE PLUS EIGHT and SAY TO THE DRESS and its franchises. Lee and team have also spearheaded the network’s nostalgia-driven revival of audience favorites , and the recently announced plans to return WHAT NOT TO WEAR to the network.

In previous roles at TLC parent company Discovery, Inc., Lee served as Vice President of Development and Production for the 2007 launch of Planet Green, originating 200 hours of new programming. Prior to Planet Green, he was Vice President of Development for the .

Lee received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for Film and Television.
