Emergence News Australia Vol. 2 No. 2 • July 2011 Messages from Maitreya Between September 1977 and June 1982, British author and lecturer Benjamin Creme received a series of 140 Messages from Maitreya, the World Teacher. These Messages were given during Creme's public lectures in London via a process of mental overshadowing or spiritual telepathy, which is not related to mediumship or channelling. Through these communications, Maitreya suggests the lines that social change must take, and evokes the desire to share and serve humanity. He also gives hints on how to recognize him and urges people to make known the fact of his presence. Message No. 12 January 10, 1978 My dear friends, I am happy to be with you once more, and to reveal to you My thoughts on man’s problem. Man’s problem today, as always, is of his own making; it is not inherent in the Plan of God. By the misuse of his divine freewill, man has placed his future, and that of all the kingdoms, in jeopardy. Many today are beginning to realise this and are taking such steps as they can to avert catastrophe. This is good. But not all men see the danger which faces mankind in increasing potency. Time is short indeed for the reconstruction of our world along lines more befitting man’s true role and purpose. My task is to show you the way, outline the possibilities only, for by man himself must the New World be forged. There are many today who admit the necessity for change, but still resist it. There are many today who see the crumbling of the old and outworn world of the past, but cling to the old forms. But there is a new voice being heard among the nations: the voice of Truth, which contains the hope, the promise, of the New Time. This voice will increasingly make its impress on the minds of men, for it is the voice of God, speaking through men. My Masters are with you and will show you the way; I Myself will lead. Can it be that you will renounce this guidance, this opportunity to rise and progress? No, My friends, I think not. I shall show you that the way for man is the way of brotherhood, close co-operation and mutual trust and service. This is the only way. All else has failed. My friends, unless man can do this, man on this Earth will cease to be. I threaten not, but simply state the truth. There is but little time left to restore the balance of nature and the world. Make it your primary task to release to all men the wherewithal to exist in human dignity, as sons of God, brothers all. Make over, in trust for all men, the produce of the world to the nations of the world. Do this today as free men, and reap the glory tomorrow as true sons of God. May the Divine Light and Love and Power of the One Most Holy God fall now upon your hearts and minds. May this Light, Love and Power show you to yourselves as very God. ► Read more messages from Maitreya 2 Emergence News Australia Vol. 2 No. 2 • July 2011 'Prince of Peace' In 2003 at the age of eight, American artistic prodigy Akiane (pronounced ah-kee-ah-nah) Kramarik painted a portrait which she calls "Prince of Peace". On her website, she explains how the painting came about. "It was God's timing; I had been looking for a Jesus model for two years, and I could not find the right face. Then one day I asked my family to pray with me all day. We petitioned God to send the model right through our front door. The next day a tall car- penter came in. He was so humble, and I was sur- prised that he agreed to model for me. But a week later he called back to say that he was unworthy to represent his master. "We all prayed together again, and a few days later he called back to tell us that God wanted him to do it, but he had to cut his hair and beard in three days. So we took a few pictures and I studied his face for a long time. After dozens of sketches, I started paint- ing. It took me 40 hours to finish the first Jesus painting –The Prince of Peace." Jurij Sizenov Nikolaevich, from Russian television and radio network Shabolovka said, "We compared Akiane's extraordinary painting Prince of Peace with the computerized image taken from the Shroud Of Tu- rin, that was hanging in my office. To our complete shock and marvel we found virtually an exact match! It is a miracle and it must come from God! There are no words to describe how a little 8-year-old girl could por- tray such wisdom, compassion and love in the eyes she painted. Benjamin Creme's Master confirms that the 'model' was the Master Jesus. Benjamin Creme says of the Turin Shroud, "The image on it was deposited intentionally and left there for future generations to hold to the reality of resurrection, because that is what the gospel story is about" and that "the Shroud is yet another of the many miracles or signs which herald the emergence of Maitreya – the World Teacher". Rotorua, New Zealand 'Star' sighting A New Zealand farmer filmed what he described as a "strange light" "hovering 20 meters off the ground at 2000 feet away", "just like a big ball of energy pulsing colors of yellow, pinky purple." He commented, "I am really happy to have seen this and now have a open mind." See news report Benjamin Creme's Master confirms that the "strange light" was Maitreya's light ship. (Share International magazine July/August 2011) Kiwi miracle On May1, 2011, a rare kiwi chick was born at the Pukaha Mount Bruce national wildlife centre, Wairarapa New Zealand. The chick, named Manukura, is not an albino but the rare offspring of some North Island Brown Kiwi from Little Barrier Island. Elders from the Rangitane o Waira- rapa iwi gave the chick his name. Translated it means “of chiefly status.” Rangitane chief executive Jason Kerehi, said tribal elders saw the white chick as a "tohu" or "sign" of new beginnings.

Books include The Reappearance of the Christ and the Masters of Wisdom, Maitreya’s Mission, Messages from Maitreya, the Christ and Transmission: A Meditation for a New Age. HISTORY Benjamin Creme was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1922. During his early years Creme studied art and esoteric philosophy, and eventually became known both as a modernist painter and an expert in the teachings of Helena Blavatsky and Alice A. Bailey.1 While he came to believe in the existence of the “Masters of Wisdom” (i.e., great teachers who have evolved to a higher level of existence) through the writings of the Theosophists, he was nonetheless surprised when he was contacted by one of the Masters in 1959. The Master prophesied that the Christ would return in twenty years, and that Creme would play a role in the Christ’s activities.2 In 1972, the Master began training Creme for his role as forerunner to the Christ.3 From 1975–1979, Creme spoke throughout Europe about the coming Christ who would fulfill all religions’ prophecies concerning a coming savior. This activity became increasingly important when the Christ, known as Maitreya, left his refuge in the Himalayas in July of 1977, and particularly when he began appearing to London’s Indian-Pakistani community in March of 1978.4 Maitreya’s most significant appearance allegedly occurred in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1988.

Rather than present a long uncategorized list, which would have been unhelpful and potentially confusing, the classification of literature mirrors the format of the book. (Classifying new religions and spiritualities is a notoriously difficult problem, and it should not be thought that groups that have been bracketed together do not have important differences.) In a few instances a movement may be relevant to more than one section; hence readers are advised to look in other sections if they cannot instantly locate the sought material. Anyone who compiles a bibliography on new spiritualities has to make choices, since there is a vast array of literature available. While endeavouring to include a good range of material and viewpoints, we have omitted material that we consider to be badly inaccurate or misleading. However, some religious movements have been virtually neglected by writers and hence the material indicated below is the best available. For some groups there is virtually no literature apart from their own writings.
