More than 30 papers and posters were presented and much fruitful discussion occurred. An enjoyable field trip to the Colorado Rockies took place on Sunday, May 19th, and the weather was excellent. Boris was such a good host that it was difficult to leave, but many participants traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico to attend the annual meetings of the North American Benthological Society. Bill Stark gave us a way to remember this meeting by producing a T-shirt with a unique “Spirit Fly” design. ANNOUNCEMENT 11th International Stonefly Symposium Stan Szczytko has planned and organized an excellent symposium that will be held at the Tree Haven Biological Station, University of Wisconsin in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, USA. The registration cost of $300 includes lodging, meals, field trip and a T- Shirt. This is a real bargain so hopefully many colleagues and friends will come and participate in the symposium August 17-20, 1992. Its contribution to the historiography of the period stems from the fact that it constitutes the first academic study of the third largest resistance organisation in Greece, the 5/42 regiment of evzones. The study of this national resistance organisation can thus extend our knowledge of the Greek resistance effort, the political relations between the main resistance groups, the conditions that led to the civil war and the domestic relevance of British policies. -

The new species are described and illustrated, the male terminalia of Clinocera megalatlantica (Vaillant) are illustrated and the distributions of all species within Greece are listed. -

Aspock et Holzel, 1977 is recorded for the first time from Slovenia. The finding on the southwest slopes of the eastern Julian Alps represents the northernmost record for the family in Europe. A list of known localities for N. apatelios is provided in an appendix. Aspock, U. Aspock et Holzel, 1977. Najdba najugozahodnih pobocjih vzhodnih Julijskih Alp je najsevernejsa najdba druzine v Evropi. Spisek znanih najdisc vrste N. apatelios je sestavljen v dodatku. KLJUCNE BESEDE: Neuroptera, Nevrorthus apatelios, nova najdba, Slovenija Recently, Letardi et ale (2005) reported the occurrence of Nevrorthus apatelios H. Aspock, U. Aspock et Holzel (1977) in the Friuli region of northern Italy_ This dis covery significantly expanded the known geographic distribution of this primarily Balkan species, increasing its documented range by 3° latituqe to the north and 4° longitude to the west. This unexpected discovery has suggested that nevrorthids, which are rarely collected and appear to be very locally distributed, may have a greater distribution in southeastern Europe than previously realized. On 22 June 2008, the first author collected two adult male specimens of N. apate lios in the Goriska region of western Slovenia. -

Vol. 3, No. 2, June 2008___________ Scope: Munis Entomology & Zoology publishes a wide variety of papers on all aspects of Entomology and Zoology from all of the world, including mainly studies on systematics, taxonomy, nomenclature, fauna, biogeography, biodiversity, ecology, morphology, behavior, conservation, paleobiology and other aspects are appropriate topics for papers submitted to Munis Entomology & Zoology. Submission of Manuscripts: Works published or under consideration elsewhere (including on the internet) will not be accepted. At first submission, one double spaced hard copy (text and tables) with figures (may not be original) must be sent to the Editors, Dr. Hüseyin Özdikmen for publication in MEZ. All manuscripts should be submitted as Word file or PDF file in an e-mail attachment. If electronic submission is not possible due to limitations of electronic space at the sending or receiving ends, unavailability of e-mail, etc., we will accept “hard” versions, in triplicate, accompanied by an electronic version stored in a floppy disk, a CD-ROM. Review Process: When submitting manuscripts, all authors provides the name, of at least three qualified experts (they also provide their address, subject fields and e-mails). Then, the editors send to experts to review the papers. The review process should normally be completed within 45-60 days. After reviewing papers by reviwers: Rejected papers are discarded. Darwin”, University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Viale dell’Università 32, 00185 Roma, Italy *Corresponding author, e-mail: [email protected] ABSTRACT The taxonomy, geographic distribution and ecology of Rhaphidophoridae of Greece are updated herein. At present, 28 species of Dolichopoda Bolívar, 1880 and five species of Troglophilus Krauss, 1879 are known to colonize Greek caves and, in a few circumstances, epigean habitats. Dolichopoda includes a high number of species and shows a wide geo- graphic distribution, including most of Greece. The genus diversity peaks in the Hellenic region, which hosts 28 of the 51 species described thus far. Most of the Dolichopoda species show a high degree of endemism, being recorded from only one or a few caves in restricted geographic areas. The thermo-xerophilic climate characterizing most of the southern Balkan Peninsula and the high fragmentation of the Greek karstic areas could have played an impor- tant role in the reduction of gene flow among cave cricket populations, leading to strong iso- lation and multiple speciation events. All the Dolichopoda species found in the area are highly dependent on caves and show clear adaptations to the subterranean ecosystems. Of the five Troglophilus species known for the area, only two occur in continental Greece, with a very scattered geographic distribution including a few mountain localities in northern and central Greece.
