Miocene Continental Gastropods from the Southern Margin of the Swabian Alb (Baden-Württemberg, SW Germany)
N. Jb. Geol. Paläont. Abh. 287/1 (2018), 17–44 Article E Stuttgart, January 2018 Miocene continental gastropods from the southern margin of the Swabian Alb (Baden-Württemberg, SW Germany) Olaf Höltke, Rodrigo B. Salvador, and Michael W. Rasser With 6 figures Abstract: The Middle Miocene silvana-beds outcropping at the southern margin of the Swabian Alb bear a wide array of terrestrial and freshwater gastropods. Especially in the surroundings of the Emerberg and Tautschbuch hills, there are records of several collection sites. In the present work, we investigated material from the historical localities from these two regions, housed in museum collec- tions, in order to provide an updated check list, synthesizing the knowledge of the region in the hopes to spur renewed interest. In total, we report 14 freshwater and 50 land snail species from the area, but not all species reported in the literature could be confirmed. Key words: Baden-Württemberg, European Land Mammal Zone MN 5, Langhian, silvana- beds, Upper Freshwater Molasse. 1. Introduction (1923-1930). New Anatomical Data on the Iberian Endemic Atenia Quadrasi (Hidalgo, 1885) (Pulmonata, Helicodontidae)
JOURNAL OF CONCHOLOGY (2006), VOL.39, NO.1 55 NEW ANATOMICAL DATA ON THE IBERIAN ENDEMIC ATENIA QUADRASI (HIDALGO, 1885) (PULMONATA, HELICODONTIDAE) ALBERTO MARTÍNEZ-ORTÍ1 1 Museu Valencià d’Història Natural. Passeig de la Petxina, 15. E-46008 Valencia (Spain) Abstract Living Atenia quadrasi (Hidalgo, 1855) were collected from Pego (Alicante) giving new data about the repro- ductive system, shell, radula and jaw. This data suggests that the genus Atenia Gittenberger, 1968 should be placed in the Subfamily Lindholmiolinae Schileyko, 1978 within the Family Helicodontidae Kobelt, 1904. The small range of this species and the threat to the habitat both suggest that A. quadrasi should be considered threatened. Key words Atenia quadrasi, Helicodontidae, Lindholmiolinae, systematic position, Iberian Peninsula. Universidad de Oviedo [email protected] Carmen Ramos Carvajal Departamento de Economía Aplicada. Universidad de Oviedo [email protected] The term “Social Economy” has been a widely discussed, throughout history there have been various terms that have come to refer to entities that are not framed either in the public or private sector capitalist as third sector, third system, solidarity economy, among others. However, despite all these denominations attempt to describe similar realities, the delimita- tion of the field of activity has not always been the same, may differ from one approach to another and even within the same approach, this definition can change over time or in the region where used. In recent years the social economy has become very important in the economic develop- ment of the regions, due to the characteristics of the component entities, which significantly influence magnitudes as economic performance, the ability to create jobs and increased social welfare. Evolution has been linked to the growing interest of researchers, governments and supranational organizations such as the European Union, to analyze their importance in the regions and implement policies to strengthen this sector.
