Riley Lafrentz, from Wheatland Cattle Co., Bienfait, worked with each age group on the different aspects of judging cattle. Riley made some great points on how to present yourself, how to work with animals and ring- man to organize a ring and how to put together an effective set of oral reasons. Charolais Banner • October 2015 61 Canadian Charolais Youth Conference & Show 2015 “CHAROLAIS PRIDE ON THE PRAIRIES” of Canora hosted the Keep and Cull Competition. Jordan River Charolais, Glen and Lori Mangels, Carrot River, joined them to sponsor, cook and serve supper for all of the participants and their families. Everyone got a chance to have a herd tour and the youth enjoyed a team balloon breaking competition. The game turned out to be so popular, they played three rounds before it was time to leave. Mike and Joanne Neilson, Neilson Cattle Company, Willowbrook, hosted a pizza supper Friday night in their beautiful yard and their sale facility. It was a relaxed supper and the kids enjoyed more games before returning to Yorkton to retire. Barn Bosses for the event were Carey Weinbender and Glenn Ching. All of the parents chipped in where Shelby Evans, on behalf of the CCYA National Board, presented LeeAnn and Carey Weinbender with the CCYA Honouree Awards necessary to hold animals for the judging competitions and to help things run smoothly.
