The A-10 will have the final authority regarding all championship matters. Some adjustments may be expected in the best interest of the Championship. The A-10 representative(s) must approve these adjustments with the input of the Camden County Parks Department. The 2017 NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Pre-Championship Manual will serve as a general guide for the Atlantic 10 Championship. ENTRIES PROCEDURES Entries must be submitted to RegattaCentral (https://www.regattacentral.com – “Atlantic 10 Women’s Rowing Championship”) by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28. The final schedule of events will be distributed on Monday, May 1. Events conducted at the championship include the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, Varsity 4 and Third Varsity 8. Institutions may only enter one (1) boat per race in each event. A minimum of three (3) boats must be entered in an event in order for that event to be conducted. No student-athlete may be doubled within the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, or Varsity 4. Line-ups must be submitted to RegattaCentral by 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday, May 4. Coaches can change the order/seats of student- athletes in a boat after May 4 without approval, but coaches cannot change student-athletes between boats without requesting a lineup change through the Championship Games Committee. A waiver would only be granted for student-athletes with a written medical note from a physician stating the student-athlete cannot compete due to illness or injury. Line-ups must remain the same for all prelims and finals races. Scratches: After the schedule is released, scratches will only be accepted for student-athletes with medical or eligibility concerns or for equipment-related problems. Any scratches after the schedule is released are subject to review and approval by the Championship Games Committee. SEEDING PROCEDURE The coaches will seed all four events, including their own teams. In order to break a tie in seeding recommendations, the teams in question will have their own seed recommendation dropped. If there is still a tie, a coin flip will be utilized. The Seeding Form (Appendix D) should be completed and returned to the Conference office by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3. Seeds will be finalized at the pre-championship meeting. Teams will be placed in heats according to the following seeds: Heat #1 – 1, 4, 5, 8, 9 Heat #2 – 2, 3, 6, 7 In seven-boat seeded races the placement of seeds in each heat will be as follows: Heat #1 – 1, 4, 5, 7 Heat #2 – 2, 3, 6 In events where qualifying heats are held, the top two (2) crews from each heat will advance to the Grand Final along with the next two (2) fastest times. The remaining crews that do not qualify for the Grand Final will compete in a Petite Final. The Petite Final will be staged immediately prior to the Grand Final. In events that are seeded where qualifying heats are held, advancement to the finals will be determined by places in each heat. The top three (3) crews from each heat will advance to the Grand Final, while the remaining crews that do not qualify for the Grand Final will compete in a Petite Final. The Petite Final will be staged immediately prior to the Grand Final. In seven-boat races, the top three (3) finishers in Heat #1 and the top two (2) finishers in Heat #2 will advance to the Grand Final with the remaining two (2) crews in each heat competing in a Petite Final. If floating starts are used, advancement to the Grand Final will be based on the top three (3) finishes in each heat with the remaining crews competing in a Petite Final. 3 2017 ATLANTIC 10 WOMENS’ ROWING CHAMPIONSHIP MANUAL LANE ASSIGNMENTS For seeded prelims, lane assignments will be as follows: Heat #1 Seed #1 – Lane 3 Seed #4 – Lane 4 Seed #5 – Lane 2 Seed #8 – Lane 5 Seed #9 – Lane 1 Heat #2 Seed #2 – Lane 3 Seed #3 – Lane 4 Seed #6 – Lane 2 Seed #7 – Lane 5 Lane assignments for finals will be as follows: Lane 1 Third place heat #1/Next fastest time Lane 2 Second place Heat #2 Lane 3 Winner Heat #1 Lane 4 Winner Heat #2 Lane 5 Second place Heat #1 Lane 6 Third place heat #2/Second next fastest time SCORING The Atlantic 10 Rowing Team Champion will be determined by scoring the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8 and Varsity

    An Atlantic 10 team has been to the NCAA’s every year since the tournament’s inception in 1983. In 1989 a league-high four teams represented the Atlantic 10 in the NCAA Tournament.
