The Kerrobert Kinsmen were instrumental in build- ing the pool. It took several years and they over- came many difficulties in order to make it a reality. This photo shows Jim Armstrong, the Kinsmen president, at the Grand Opening ceremony in 1961. I enjoyed a great visit with Mr. and Mrs Armstrong tonight and they are quick to say there were many people and businesses that helped make it happen through time and donations. So in keeping with the spirit of National Volunteer Week I’d like to thank ALL THOSE PEOPLE who shared in building our pool, our 59 year old pool!

Residents of the Town of Luseland have been and continue working at beautifying the cemeteries and would like some assistance from the public – there are a number of graves in the cemetery that have concrete covers which have regrettably deteriorated over the years, along with fading/missing nameplates on headstones. Unfortunately, many of the families’ descendants have moved away and we just don’t know who or how to contact the owner (the executor of the deceased’s estate) to discuss the matter.

The Cemeteries Act, 1999 makes it clear we are prohibited from removing these covers without the authority of the owner, so we’re asking people to come forward if they are the descendant or if you know where we might find the descendant, to ascertain whether the family wishes to have these covers removed, which the Town will see to, or for your family to refurbish or replace the cover.

The following is a list of the graves we are referring to:
