“JOLINA” LEAVES THE PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AND RE-INTENSIFIES INTO A SEVERE TROPICAL STORM OVER THE WEST Location of Center (10:00 PM) The center of Severe Tropical Storm “JOLINA” was estimated based on all available data at 605 km West of Dagupan City, (16.1°N, 114.7°E) (outside the PAR) Intensity Maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 115 km/h, and central pressure of 990 hPa Present Movement Westward at 30 km/h Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds Strong winds or higher extend outwards up to 160 km from the center

TROPICAL CYCLONE WIND SIGNALS IN EFFECT No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal is currently in effect.

HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS

Heavy Rainfall  Severe Tropical Storm “JOLINA” and Typhoon “KIKO” will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon, bringing rains over the western sections of Southern Luzon and in the next 24 hours. For more information, see Weather Advisory #3 for Southwest Monsoon issued at 11:00 PM today. Severe Winds  The enhanced Southwest Monsoon will bring strong winds (strong breeze to near gale conditions) with occasional gusts over , and the coastal and upland/mountain areas of Visayas, Bicol Region, and . HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS  In the next 24 hours, “JOLINA” and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon will bring rough to very rough seas (2.8 to 4.5 m) over the western seaboards of Palawan including Calamian and Kalayaan Islands. Sea travel is risky for small seacrafts over these waters. Mariners without the proper experience should immediately seek safe harbor. For more information, see the Gale Warning #1 issued at 5:00 PM today.  Moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 m) will prevail over the remaining western seaboards of Luzon. Mariners of small seacrafts are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions. TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK

 “JOLINA” will continue moving generally westward over the West Philippine Sea tonight through Saturday. Afterwards, the storm will turn northwestward and head towards Vietnam.  “JOLINA” is forecast to reach typhoon category tomorrow and will remain as such until Sunday, when it is expected to make landfall.

Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.
