Popcorn and a Pony: movie review

Miracle Of The White Stallions (1963) PG: Walt Disney sets the pace for what the famed horses of the had to endure to survive World War ll. Their survival depended on the people who be- lieve in them. We see them venture through for safety. The head of the Spanish Riding School, Col. Alois Podhajsky (who actually won a Bronze medal in Dressage, in the1936 Olympics held in Berlin) He gathers his best horses and riders together to put on a show for General George Patton, or the U.S. Army (who competed in equestrian events in the 1912 Olympics) After viewing this magnificent show, The U.S. Army decided to pro- tect these horses. The movie can be a bit slow at times, but I find watching these gorgeous animals perform well worth it. We also get to see the inside of the lavish Spanish riding school and the Hermes Castle, both which have dreamy arenas and stables. If you haven’t had the chance to see “The World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions” when they are on tour, the performances in this movie will give you an idea of what you’ve been missing.
