At its nineteenth session, held from February 25 to 28, 2013, the Standing Committee on the Law of Patents (SCP) agreed that, in relation to the topic “exceptions and limitations to patent rights”, the Secretariat would prepare, inter alia , a document, based on input received from Member States, on how the following five exceptions and limitations were implemented in Member States, without evaluating the effectiveness of those exceptions and limitations: private and/or non-commercial use; experimental use and/or scientific research; preparation of medicines; prior use; use of articles on foreign vessels, aircrafts and land vehicles. The document should also cover practical challenges encountered by Member States in implementing them. 2. Pursuant to the above decision, the Secretariat invited Member States and Reg ional Patent Offices, through Note C.8076, to submit information to the Internat ional Bureau add itional to , or updat ing, the information contained in their responses to the questionnaire on exceptions and limitations to patent rights on the above five exceptions and limitations. In addition, Member States and Regional Patent Offices which had not yet submitted their responses to the quest ionnaire were inv ited to do so . 3. Abstract Detailed distribution pattern of colubrid snakes in Serbia is still inadequately described, despite the long historical study. In this paper, we provide accurate distribution of seven species, with previously published and newly accumulated faunistic records compiled. Comparative analysis of faunas among all Balkan countries showed that Serbian colubrid fauna is among the most distinct (together with faunas of Slovenia and Romania), due to small number of species. Zoogeographic analysis showed high chorotype diversity of Serbian colubrids: seven species belong to six chorotypes. South-eastern Serbia (Pčinja River valley) is characterized by the presence of all colubrid species inhabiting our country, and deserves the highest conservation status at the national level. -

land Article Timacum Minus in Moesia Superior—Centrality and Urbanism at a Roman Mining Settlement Lina Diers Institute for Classical Archaeology, University of Vienna, Franz-Klein-Gasse 1, 1190 Vienna, Austria; [email protected] Received: 16 September 2018; Accepted: 19 October 2018; Published: 22 October 2018 Abstract: When applying traditional criteria of Roman urbanism, several settlements in the province of Moesia are not recognised as parts of the urban network. To avoid this, previous criteria of urbanism should be revised. This paper suggests revisions, which provide a more inclusive definition of urbanism: Thus, instead of focusing on administrative status and monumentality as primary markers of urbanity and urbanization, development factors for agglomeration and centrality are emphasized as decisive conditions for, and characteristics of, urban settlement. To provide a case study for this theoretical outline, the upper-Moesian mining settlement of Timacum Minus is evaluated by ideas derived from a critical appreciation of Walter Christaller’s central place theory. Timacum Minus did not have official settlement status and monumental character, yet, it developed as a central place in the unique landscape of the Timok valley. This was due to its location as a central road station, military post, and settlement along the important interregional Timok valley road as well as the site hierarchy as the base of the centralized administration of the Timok valley mining district. Hence, Timacum Minus displays different levels of centrality. Interestingly, the site only held these properties during the Roman Principate, although its central location and mining activities also existed in pre-Roman and post-Roman times. -

5 Baseline Conditions
Morava Corridor Motorway Project Chapter 5: Baseline Conditions 5 BASELINE CONDITIONS This Chapter comprises the collection of baseline data representative of the Study Area covering Area of Influence, which is defined in the following paragraphs, in order to provide a baseline against which the impacts of the Project can be assessed. The baseline takes into account current conditions and those changing conditions (e.g., increasing traffic load on the transportation network and its environmental and social consequences) apparent in the baseline. It takes into consideration other developments in the area which are underway or certain to be initiated in the near future. The baseline description has the following main objectives: to focus on receptors that were identified during scoping phase and further discussed in the ESIA stage as having the potential to be significantly affected by the Project; to describe and where possible quantify their characteristics (nature, condition, quality, extent etc.); to provide data to aid the prediction and evaluation of possible impacts; and to inform judgments about the sensitivity, vulnerability and/or importance of resources/receptors. In the following sections of this Chapter, description of the methodologies (e.g., those applied for ecological surveys meeting the requirements of PS6 of IFC), limitations and results of the data collection, as well as a summary of the baseline conditions are provided. 5.1 Definition of the Area of Influence The Area of Influence (AoI) is an important element in assessing environmental and social impacts of a proposed development since it informs about the physical and/or social extent onto which the assessment should be performed. -

Basic problems and trends almost all the rural regions share are migrations, poor diversification of economic activities, extensive agriculture, high level of unemployment, lack of employment possibilities, poor and underdeveloped infrastructure, low GDP per capita in comparison to the urban regions and unpolluted environment faced with potential threats . The subject of this paper is to point to the potentials of the rural tourism in Serbia with the aim of village revitalization, as well as its prevention from dying out. Also, the aim of the paper is to stress the fact that the rural tourism is a sustainable model of development and preservation of Serbian village and Serbian peasant from more aspects: economic, tourist, sociological, the spatial planning and ecological ones. Finally, the aim of the paper is to emphasize that it is possible to save village identity by its transformation into ethno village adopting the idea of European ethno villages. Rural tourism in Serbia must become `main` industry` and a generator of sleeping national economy. The main benefits belong to the rural households. Tourist agencies must be engaged in enabling a dialogue between their employees and local representatives. Clients must not only be observers but also critics in the spirit of trust and transparency. -
