Assessing, creating and executing a plan of care for those with reduced visual acuity, impaired contrast sensitivity function, impaired peripheral visual fields, accommodative and eye movement dysfunction, loss of depth perception, diminished cognitive, perceptual and sensory-integrative abilities which impair activities of daily living, or create academic or vocational limitations. I co-ordinate care and receive referrals from many specialties including: optometrists, ophthalmologists, neurologists, neuropsychiatrists, physiatrists, OT, PT, SLP, schools and learning centers. I utilize functional vision evaluation instruments including VEP, ERG electrodiagnostic testing, assessment of visual acuity, visual fields, visual perception and visual motor functioning, literacy skills in reading and writing, etc. as they relate to vision impairment and disability. -Low vision rehabilitation for those with reduced visual acuity and field loss. 2 Riverside Rehabilitation Institute, Newport News, Virginia – Affiliate Staff Assess, develop and implement a plan of care for the patients of this sub-acute facility in coordination with other specialties.
