National Theatre Live is the National Theatre's groundbreaking project to broadcast the best of British theatre from the London stage to cinemas around the world. Enzian is currently scheduled to play three productions: Cyrano de Begerac, starring James McAvoy; Frankenstein, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller; and Fleabag, starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Individual tickets to each screening are available for purchase, as well as a Season Pass, which allows patrons to see all three productions at a discount and includes one free glass of house wine at each show. WHAT: National Theatre Live: Cyrano de Bergerac Sunday, September 26th at 11AM A magnetic soldier full of swagger and brilliant poet, Cyrano de Bergerac is in love with his beautiful and intelligent cousin Roxane without her knowing. His one curse in his life, he feels, is his large nose and although it may have been a forming influence in his razer- sharp wit, he believes that Roxane will reject him. When the handsome but unpoetic Christian falls for the beautiful Roxane, he asks Cyrano to help him win her heart. Cyrano de Bergerac can be delivered as an allegory of inner and outer beauty. 2020, 170 minutes National Theatre Live: Frankenstein Saturday, October 24th at 11AM Captured live in 2011 from the National Theatre stage in London, this thrilling, sold-out production became an international sensation, experienced by almost half a million people in cinemas around the world. Directed by Academy Award®-winner Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire), Frankenstein features Benedict Cumberbatch (Hamlet, BBC’s Sherlock) as The Creature and Jonny Lee Miller (Elementary, Trainspotting) as Victor Frankenstein. Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein’s bewildered creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the increasingly desperate and vengeful Creature determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal. Scientific responsibility, parental neglect, cognitive development and the nature of good and evil, are embedded within this thrilling and deeply disturbing classic tale. 2011, 140 minutes National Theatre Live: Fleabag Saturday, November 28th at 11AM See the hilarious, award-winning, one-woman show that inspired the BBC’s hit TV series Fleabag, winner of four Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series! Written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Killing Eve) as the title character and directed by Vicky Jones, Fleabag is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life. Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose. Playing to sold-out audiences in New York and London, don’t miss your chance to see this ‘legitimately hilarious show’ (New Yorker), recorded live and screened to a cinema near you.
