The Mid‐Autumn Festival is a celebration of harvest, deeply rooted in the Chinese culture for centuries. Celebrated on the 15th August of the lunar calendar every year (which falls on 19th September in 2013) when the moon is always round, the festival also signifies the union of families and as a form of thanksgiving. During this festival, it is a tradition to have mooncakes while families and friends gather for moon gazing. And this year, Chef Billy Leong from Fortune Palace has prepared just what you need for a memorable and magnificent celebration! A Debut in Cambodia ‐ Snowy Green Tea & Tiramisu Mooncakes Unveiled for the first time in Cambodia, the delicate and soft snowy mooncakes are non‐bake mooncakes with the soft and translucent skin made from glutinous flour. The velvety smooth and flavourful Green Tea and Tiramisu paste are encased in the delicate snow skins which are then molded to perfection. For the advocates of traditional baked mooncakes, there are also an array of golden crusted mooncakes filled with creamy lotus seed, pandan, durian and red bean paste with options of plain or double yolk and nuts to choose from. 1 of 3 All mooncakes are handcrafted daily in small quantity to ensure the high quality and freshness. The various paste used for this year is of top grade imported from countries of Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia where they are well‐known for their superior and divine mooncakes. Good news for the health conscious; Fortune Palace’s mooncakes are made using lesser oil and low sugar paste which makes these mooncakes a luxurious indulgence without the guilt!
