THE PIPELINE PUBLISHED IN WERRIMULL SINCE 1995 ISSUE 15 Erin Fush, Principal - [email protected] www.werrp12.vic.edu.au Wednesday 28 August 2018 https://www.facebook.com/Werrimullp12 From the Principal We are well and truly on the downward slope of this Term with our year 12 students not having many more weeks of formal classes before their final exams. Last week we had all our students participate in camps or excursions experiencing the local sites and afar, all students had a fantastic time and the staff enjoyed being in a different learning environment with the kids. Our three students that are at Marlow Leadership School had a family visit on the weekend and from looking at the pictures I think the parents appreciated it as much if not more than the three girls themselves. We wish them all the best for the last month of their alternative setting schooling and finalise their CLP preparations. As one parent stated “it has been worth it as her daughter now uses a knife and fork something she has been trying to teach for 14 years.” This week we have Miss Maddison Ruchel start her pre-service placement with us, she will be teaching here until the end of the Term, we are excited to have her back working with us bringing new ideas and opportunities to our students. Also last week was Miss M’s last day. She was well received by the primary students and completed her rounds very successfully. We wish her all the best over the coming months as she continues on her path to teacher full registration. The parent opinion survey has been extended. To ensure that all schools have the best opportunity to maximise their response rates, the closing date for our school parents to complete the survey has been extended until 9 September 2018. We are asking for your assistance to complete the survey this week. If you require the link and passcode please contact the front office and we can send the letter home again. Mr Whittle took three students – Morgan Ruchel, Zac Symes and Tom Fox to Ouyen today to compete in the Mallee Athletics, as this goes to print we are unsure how they placed but I am 100% sure they will have given it there all and represented our school and themselves to the highest standard. We would like to welcome three new students to the school – Abby, Keiara and Cheyenne Skinner, they have started in the primary area . I would also like to wish Mrs Anita Knight all the best as she goes on maternity leave and we can’t wait to meet Baby Knight. Good luck to all the Meringur and Werrimull football and netball teams that are competing in Grand Finals this weekend, I know many of our parents and other community are directly involved. Also to any students that are playing in the 1st and 2nd semi-finals of the SFNL over the next two weekends good luck. Just a reminder that it is RED FOOD this FRIDAY if you would like to order from the Werrimull Hotel. Scholastic Book Club Just a reminder if any students would like to place an order from the current issue of Scholastic Book Club, please have orders and money to Mrs Carter no later than Friday 7th September.
