Sub: Diversion of 0.001766 hectares of forest land in favour of M/s Indian Oil Corporation Limited for approach road to retail outlet at Village on - Road, Kms 2-3, R/s under Forest Division & District, , Punjab.

Ref: (i) State Government of Punjab's letter No.FCA/ 1980/293/2012/ 1386 dated 141h May, 2013 (ii) Nodal Officer, FCA & CCF (FC)'s letter No.FCAjl980/293/2012/2364 dated 11 lh June, 2013 Sir, Please refer to the above cited subject and letters seeking prior approval of the Central Government for diversion of forest land for non-forestry purpose in accordance with section-2 of the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980.

2. After careful examination of the proposal of the State Government, final approval is hereby conveyed for diversion of 0.001766 hectares of forest land for the above mentioned project subject to following conditions:

i. Legal status of the forest land will remain unchanged; ii. Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India dated 151h July 2004 shall be strictly adhered to; iii. No tree will be removed in this case; iv. Compensatory afforestation will be carried out over 0.0040 hectares of degraded forest land on Avacue Land of Bir Gill Forests as per proposed scheme, at a cost of Rs. 1,404/- (rupees one thousand four hundred and four only) provided by the user agency. Plantation will be done within one year from the date of issue of this letter; v. Light crown trees may be planted on the entire periphery of the petrol pump at a distance of 1.5 meter from the wall and the distance between two trees will be 1.00 to 1.5 meter; vi. This permission is valid for 15 years i.e. upto 20lh June, 2028 and thereafter a fresh permission for the use of said forest land will be taken from Government of India; Vll. No damage will be done to the adjoining forest land; and viii. The forest land will not be used for any other purpose than that mentioned in the proposal; IX. It will be responsibility of the State Government/Usher Agency to obtain prior approval/clearance under all other relevant Acts/Rules/ Court's Rulings/ instructions, etc., as applicable to this proposal.

3. The Ministry may revoke/ suspend the clearance, if implementation of any of the above conditions is not satisfactory. State Government will ensure compliance of these conditions through forest department. Yoms fa:z?"
