Wayves — April 2012 — 5 International Women’s Week

One of five Feminist Choruses of Nova Scotia who returned for a concert at Alderney Landing Theatre to kick off an incredible week for HRM’s International Women’s Week 2012. Kudos to everyone involved in making it the best IWD in years!

Old friends, new friends, and families gathered on International Women’s Day, March 8th, to Des Adams, one of the speakers at the Rally gave, once again, celebrate the day—a great sunny day for the event. stirring words that mesmerized the crowd.

The Rally ended with a March joined by many others who chanted with great enthusiasm, heard by many in the central downtown area.

Many of the people who had been at the IWD march and their supporters joined together to participate in a protest against a contest that was being put on by Q105, where the prize was to be won by a man. The prize was a woman from Prague.

There are plans in the works for a dozen-stop Ontario tour later in the year. The East Coast Music Awards are coming up in April. Once the new album is released next year there will likely be more touring.
