TRA NSFORMING COUNTRY PARK POLLOK COUNTRY PARK, 2060 RD, GLASGOW G43 1AT PROPOSAL OF APPLICATION NOTICE / PRE-APPLICATION CONSULTATION

In accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure () Regulations 2008 (SSI 2008/432) and the relevant provisions of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 as amended by the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act 2006, please find enclosed the formal submission of the Proposal of Application Notice PAN, to provide community councils and the general public with the opportunity to express an opinion on the proposed development prior to formal submission of the application to the planning authority, declaring the intention of Neighborhoods and Sustainability to submit a major planning application to for Planning Permission to manage and control vehicular traffic and parking within Pollok Country Park. This will be achieved through the development of infrastructure to support projected visitor numbers to the park following the reopening of the after major refurbishment. Proposals include creation of new and upgraded pedestrian and cycle routes with lighting, new and upgraded main entrance with signalised junction at Haggs Road/Shawmoss Road to allow access by double decker buses, the creation of a new perimeter car park with access road to keep the majority of vehicles to the edge of the park. Works include improvements to wayfinding, minor tree removal with compensatory planting. Proposals will be delivered within the context of an emerging operational plan for managing and controlling vehicular traffic throughout the park.

I confirm that copies of the Proposal of Application Notice PAN, a leaflet showing the details of the consultation date for the public exhibition with space to comment for the proposed development are being sent to Pollokshaws and Eastwood Community Council, and Community Council, Community Council, and Strathbungo Community Council, Dumbreck Community Council, Craigton Community Council, Langside, Battlefield and Camphill Community Council, Levern and District Community Council in Glasgow .

Arrangements have been made with Pollokshaws Library to hold a staffed public consultation event and exhibition on Tuesday 10th September 2019 between the hours of 12pm and 8pm. Several information boards will be on display and leaflets will be available for members of the public to make comments on the proposed development.

These comments will be analysed and a summary of the comments and how the applicant has considered them will be submitted with the application for planning permission.

A copy of the leaflet is enclosed for your information. The public consultation event and exhibition will be advertised in the Evening Times on Monday 2nd September 2019.

Comments may also be submitted in writing to Special Projects Team, Glasgow Life, 220 High Street, Floor 5, G4 0QW. Persons wishing to make comments on the proposal should do so by Friday 26th September 2019

It may be noted that this process does not affect any persons statutory rights to submit representations to the planning authority when the planning application is formally submitted in late 2019.
