En estas regiones hay una gran variedad y abundancia de maeroliquenes a difereneia de las zonas 0 regiones tropieales donde los mieroliquenes (formas crustaceas] son los mas abundanres, Generalmente los maeroliquenes son eneontrados en estado esteril (sin aseoearpos), por 10 tanto no pueden ser [acilmenre identificados eon el estudio de Zahlbruekner (1926) para los liquenes del mundo. Ademas muehos ge- neros nuevos han sido deseritos desde entonees, prineipalmente por separaei6n de Parmelia. Esto concierne en especial a: Everniastrum, Hypogymnia, Hypo- tracbyna, Parmelina, Parmotrema, Xanthoparmelia, y recientemente Cetra- riastrum (Sipman, 1980). Por estas razones se ha elaborado una clave nueva utilizando principalmente caracteres vegetativos. La clave se basa en observaciones personales de especimenes colombianos de la easi totalidad de los generos induidos; estes se eneuentran deposit ados en COL y U. ADVAITA, CALEB A. MORSE1,2 AND DOUGLAS LADD3 ABSTRACT. – A total of 154 lichens, four lichenicolous fungi, and one allied fungus were collected by the authors from 2004 to 2015 from Pipestone National Monument (PNM), in Pipestone County, on the Prairie Coteau of southwestern Minnesota. Twelve additional species collected by previous researchers, but not found by the authors, bring the total number of taxa known for PNM to 171. This represents a substantial increase over previous reports for PNM, likely due to increased intensity of field work, and also to the marked expansion of corticolous and anthropogenic substrates since the site was first surveyed in 1899. Reexamination of 116 vouchers deposited in MIN and the PNM herbarium led to the exclusion of 48 species previously reported from the site. Crustose lichens are the most common growth form, comprising 65% of the lichen diversity. Sioux Quartzite provided substrate for 43% of the lichen taxa collected. Saxicolous lichen communities were characterized by sampling four transects on cliff faces and low outcrops. An annotated checklist of the lichens of the site is provided, as well as a list of excluded taxa. We report 24 species (including 22 lichens and two lichenicolous fungi) new for Minnesota: Acarospora boulderensis, A. contigua, A. erythrophora, A. strigata, Agonimia opuntiella, Arthonia clemens, A. muscigena, Aspicilia americana, Bacidina delicata, Buellia tyrolensis, Caloplaca flavocitrina, C. lobulata, C. -

Contributions to the Lichen Flora of Pennsylvania: A Checklist of Lichens Collected During the First Howard Crum Bryological Workshop, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area RICHARD C. HARRIS1 & JAMES C. LENDEMER2 ABSTRACT. – A checklist of 209 species of lichens and lichenicolous fungi collected during the First Howard Crum Bryological Workshop in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, Pennsylvania, USA is provided. The new species Opegrapha bicolor R.C. Harris & Lendemer, collected during the Foray, is described. Chrysothrix flavovirens Tønsberg and Merismatium peregrinum (Flotow) Triebel are reported as new to North America. On April 23-26, 2004, we were graciously allowed to be commensals during the First Howard Crum Bryological Workshop in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, Pennsylvania, USA. Given the dearth of knowledge of lichen distributions in Pennsylvania and the overall lack of recent vouchers, this was a valuable opportunity to collect in what turned out to be a rich and interesting area. We were quite surprised by the apparent high lichen diversity, as well as the number of novelties and rarities, in an area so close to the East Coast megalopolis. In four half-days in the field, we collected 209 species in a limited area of the Pennsylvania part of the Park. Some are clearly new to science of which, Opegrapha bicolor is described here (see Endnote). Two presumably undescribed species of Fellhanera will be published elsewhere, and the Halecania will be included in a forthcoming treatment of Ozark lichens. Others are left for the future, as present material (and our knowledge) are inadequate. -

Philippine Lichens with Bulbate Cilia – Bulbothrix and Relicina (Parmeliaceae)
Philippine Journal of Science 148 (4): 637-645, December 2019 ISSN 0031 - 7683 Date Received: 21 May 2019 Philippine Lichens with Bulbate Cilia – Bulbothrix and Relicina (Parmeliaceae) Paulina Bawingan1,2*, Mechell Lardizaval1, and John Elix3 1School of Natural Sciences, Saint Louis University, Baguio City 2600 Philippines 2 Biology Department, Tagum Doctors College, Tagum City 8100 Philippines 3Research School of Chemistry, Australian National University, Canberra, Australia This paper presents a taxonomic treatment of Bulbothrix and Relicina lichens (Ascomycota, Parmeliaceae) collected in the Philippines, two genera characterized by the presence of bulbate cilia. A total of five species of Bulbothrix and fifteen species of Relicina were identified, with one new record for each genus. The Philippines is a major center of diversity for Relicina. PODARIL & JAMES T. COLBERT ABSTRACT. – Exploration of the lichen diversity in southeast Iowa has historically been limited. Prior to this study only 124 of the total 7,644 known specimens of Iowa lichens (1.6%) were from four counties in southeast Iowa. After two years of field work a total of 150 species were identified from 395 specimens, 18 of which are new records for the state. Only 29 of the species found had been previously documented in southeastern Iowa. Integration of these collecting efforts with previous efforts provides an estimate of 465 species of lichens reported for Iowa. Of these species, 33 macrolichen species are likely to be rare in, or extirpated from, the state. KEYWORDS. – Biodiversity, Great Plains, North America, land use change, United States. INTRODUCTION Iowa has undergone severe landscape alterations since European settlement in the early 1800’s. In the 1830’s, Iowa was covered in 28 million acres of tallgrass prairie mixed with wetlands and 7 million acres of forest (Johnson 2000). Between 1832 and 1875 forests of the state fell to fewer than 2.6 million acres (Cohen 1992). Virtually all of the current forested land in Iowa is second or third growth with very little or no old growth forest remaining in the state (Johnson 2000). Plowing of more than 99.9% of the 28 million acres of tallgrass prairie in the state began in the 1850’s, along with conversion of 95% of prairie wetlands to agricultural use by 1970 (Cohen and Iowa Association of Naturalists 1992). -

Sipman, 25 Nov. 2017 The key is based on the keys for the genera Karoowia, Paraparmelia, Xanthoparmelia and the Neofuscelia group published by Hale (1989), Elix (201), Hale (1990) and Esslinger (1977), respectively. The species not known from Southern Africa are omitted, some rearrangements are made, and added are all additional species reported by Fryday (2015) in the Checklist for South Africa. For the added species a reference to a description is given; for the other species descriptions can be found in the above publications. The delimitation of the genus Xanthoparmelia follows Blanco et al. (2004). Genus abbreviations: K = Karoowia; N = Neofuscelia; P = Parmelia; Par = Paraparmelia; X = Xanthoparmelia. - 632 - ไลเคนวงศ์พาร์มีเลีย (Ascomycota, Lecanorales) ตามเกาะต่างๆ ของประเทศไทย PARMELIACEAE (ASCOMYCOTA, LECANORALES) OF THE ISLANDS OF THAILAND กวินนาถ บัวเรือง*, สุภัทรา โพธิ์แก้ว, ภุมริน พลทอง, นาถวิดา ดวงผุย, พิมพา นิรงค์บุตร, สัญญา มีสิม, เวชศาสตร์ พลเยี่ยม, ขจรศักดิ์ วงศ์ชีวรัตน์, เอก แสงวิเชียร, พชร มงคลสุข และกัณฑรีย์ บุญประกอบ Kawinnat Buaruang*, Supattara Phokaeo, Pumarin Ponthong, Natwida Duangphui, Phimpha Nirongbutr, Sanya Meesim, Wetchasart Polyiam, Kajonhsak Vongshewarat, Ek Sangvichien, Pachara Mongkolsuk and Kansri Boonpragob หน่วยวิจัยไลเคน ภาควิชาชีววิทยา คณะวิทยาศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยรามค าแหง บางกะปิ กรุงเทพฯ 10240 Lichen Research Unit, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Ramkhamhaeng University, Bangkok, 10240 บทคัดย่อ ความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพของไลเคนวงศ์พาร์มีเลียในหมู่เกาะต่างๆ ทั้งฝั่งอ่าวไทยและอันดามันของประเทศไทย จากการ เก็บตัวอย่างระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2548 ถึง พ.ศ. 2552 ได้ 92 ตัวอย่าง จ าแนกตามหลักอนุกรมวิธานได้ 4 สกุล 11 ชนิด ได้แก่ Bulbothrix isidiza, B. queenslandica, B. scortella, B. tabacina, Parmotrema explanatum, P. praesorediosum, Relicina abstrusa, R. subabstrusa, Relicinopsis intertexta, R. malaccensis และ R. rahengensis วิเคราะห์ชนิดตามหลักอนุกรมวิธาน โดยการศึกษาทางสัณฐานวิทยา กายวิภาควิทยา แทลลัสมีการเรียงตัวของ รากับสาหร่ายแบ่งเป็นชั้นอย่างชัดเจน สร้างโครงสร้างร่างกายที่สามารถหลุดหรือหักเพื่อการกระจายพันธุ์ได้ เช่น ไอซิเดีย ซอรี เดีย และ ฟิลลิเดีย และยึดเกาะกับที่อยู่อาศัยด้วยไรซีน การสืบพันธุ์แบบอาศัยเพศโดยสร้างแอโพธีเซียแบบมีสาหร่ายที่ขอบ ภายในมีแอสคัสทรงกระบอง บรรจุแอสโคสปอร์สีใส ทรงรี จ านวน 8
