Advertisement REGISTER OF POLITICAL PARTIES The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has received applications to enter the logo of a registered political party under the provisions of the Commonwealth Electoral ACT 1918 (the Electoral Act). Seven seperate applications to register a logo against a party are displayed below in the order that they were received for registration. If you believe that the party logo shown against the party should not be registered because, under the Electoral Act: • the application does not relate to an eligible political party; or • the application is not in accordance with section 126 (including because subsection 126(2B) would be contravened); or • the application should be refused under section 129; or • the Electoral Commission should refuse to enter a logo of the party in the Register under section 129A. you may lodge an objection. Objections must be received by the AEC by 4 May 2016, must be in writing and include your name, street address, signature and the grounds for your objection.
