Typhoon Haiyan was one of the worst, most destructive storms ever: thousands dead and hundreds of thousands more displaced and endangered by lack of food, water, shelter, medical aid and basic sanitation. The geography of the Philippines and her many islands makes relief particularly difficult. There are many worthy aid organizations; two that come to mind are the International Red Cross (http://www.icrc.org/eng/) and Doctors Without Boarders (https://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/), or click here for more suggestions on how you can stretch your hands across the globe to help: http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2013/11/12/244702268/typhoon-haiyan-how-to- help
