New Ground Rules effective 2/2020 • JERK DOWN RULE FOR RIBBON ROPING & TIE DOWN – 5 SECOND PENALTY • BREAKAWAY FLAG- SOLID COLOR FLAG (ANY COLOR) NO SIGNAGE OR WRITTEN WORDS ALLOWED • STEER WRESTLING – ONE JUMP IN THE 30 SECOND TIME LIMIT • CHUTE DOGGING- RIGHT ARM CANNOT BE UNDER THE NECK UNTIL THE STEER CROSSES THE LINE • RIBBON ROPING- RUNNER CAN STAND ANYWHERE THEY CHOOSE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE 30 FT. FINISH LINE FROM THE ROPING BOX • SADDLE BRONC & SADDLE BRONC STEER RIDING- REIN CANNOT BE WRAPPED AROUND HAND • DISQUALIFICATION- CONTESTANT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FOR THE USE OF TABACCO, VAPING, MARIJUANA PRODUCTS WHILE ON THE GROUNDS • GOAT TYING- IF A CENTER GATE CONTESTANT MUST MAINTAIN A FORWARD MOTION TO THE GOAT- NOT A CENTER GATE A PIVOT IN EITHER DIRECTION WILL BE ALLOWED • TEAM ROPING- YOU CAN ROPE HEAD OR HEELS IF STEER IS NOT STANDING • 2 LOOP RULE AT STATE FINALS – ONCE YOUR 2ND LOOP IS PULLED THE FIRST LOOP IS OUT OF PLAY. SO IF YOU CATCH WITH THE FIRST LOOP BUT PULLED THE SECOND LOOP, YOU MUST ROPE WITH THE SECOND LOOP • NEW NATIONAL PATCH PROGRAM (DETAILS ON THE NHSRA AND UHSRA WEBSITES) • ADOPTING THE ½ POINT SCORING SYSTEM IN ALL ROUGH STOCK EVENTS • JR. HIGH BAREBACK STEER & SADDLE BRONC STEER WILL BE GIVEN A RERIDE IF EQUIPMENT FAILS(FLANK FALLS OFF), STOPS, FALLS, OR FOULS • IF AN ANIMAL COMES OUT BACKWARD AND THE CONTESTANT DECLARES (DOUBLE GRAB), THAT WILL BE AN AUTOMATIC RE-RIDE. IF THEY GO ON WITH THE RIDE, THEY ARE ACCEPTING THE ANIMAL AND WILL BE SCORED ACCORDINGLY • IF THE CONTESTANT ENTERS THE ROPING BOX FROM THE BACK AND REQUESTS A RETIE. THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RIDE OUT IN FRONT OF THE BOX WHILE THE JUDGES ARE RETYING THE BARRIER. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. .

LSHSBA RULE BOOK 2019 --- 2020 Rev.10-1-19 GENERAL RULES Contestants: 1) Contestants must be a LSHSRA member in good standing. All membership forms complete, and fees paid. 2) Every contestant must check the posted draw lists and be responsible as to their stock, draw & position per event 3) All contestants are required to read the rules carefully, particularly those relating to the event in which they enter. 4) All contestants must be 18 years of age or under as of September 1 of the beginning of the rodeo year. Must be single, never married and not have any children. Entry Fees: 1) Checks will be deposited the Monday before the rodeo 2) NO REFUNDS will be given . Exceptions will be made only if the contestant is sick/injured and provides a written statement from a physician given to the rodeo secretary stating contestant's illness or injury . A veterinary draw out must meet the same criteria as a contestant's medical draw out. The rodeo secretary must be notified of such medical /veterinary draw out no later than 7PM the Friday prior to rodeo . You will lose your $10 office charge , if you have a stock charge you will lose that. 3) Late Fees : A $25 late fee will be incurred on all entries received upon completion of the last event of the previous rodeo or after stated receipt date on entry for first rodeo of the season . 4) Entry Deadline : All Entries are due by the completion of the prior rodeo . If you are not entered by that day you will be assessed the $25 late fee to each entry form .

Central Kansas Youth Rodeo Association Rulebook 2017 Rodeo Times & Dates All rodeos will start promptly at 9:00a.m. Saturday / 9:00a.m. Sunday CKYRA Finals will start at 9:00 a.m. both days ORDER OF EVENTS Sheep Riding, Calf Riding, Steer Riding, Bull Riding, Dummy Roping (Runs in the arena in front of West roping boxes), Bareback Steer Riding, Chute Dogging, Saddle Bronc Steer Riding, 2-4th Breakaway Sled Roping, Breakaway Calf Roping(2-4th, 5-8th, 9-12th), Ribbon Roping (5-8th, 9-12th), 5-8th Tie-Down Sled Roping, Tie Down Calf Roping (5-8th, 9-12th), 2-4th Breakaway Steer Roping, Team Roping (Heading 5- 8th, 9-12th, Heeling 5-8th, 9-12th), Goat Tail Untying: 1ST GRADE & UNDER, Goat Tying 2nd-4th Grade, 5th-8th Grade*, 9th-12th Grade Girls Only Pole Bending: 1ST GRADE & UNDER, 2nd-4th Grade, 5th-8th Grade Girls Only, 9th-12th Grade Girls Only Barrel Racing: 1ST GRADE & UNDER, 2nd-4th Grade, 5th-8th Grade Girls Only, 9th-12th Grade Girls Only Sunday. Boy/girl order will then be reversed at each rodeo. CKYRA Finals Eligibility Each Contestants must qualify to enter the finals. Each contestant must compete in 6 prior rodeos per event and be a member in good standing to qualify. Each Contestant must enter and participate in the finals to be eligible to receive awards. If contestant is unable to compete at finals do to a uncontrolled situation, awards will be given at the board discretion on a case by case basis. Finals Entries need to be turned in and paid by the end of the rodeo previous to the Finals Rodeo (Checks will be cashed prior to Finals weekend).

To maintain order and standards set up by the Mo-Kan Youth Rodeo Association among members at their functions. The Mo-Kan Youth Rodeo Association is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. 2. Ground Rules
2020 NJHFR & NHSFR GROUND RULES GENERAL RULES ▪ [ PAGE 47 ] It shall be the judge’s responsibility to see the contestant competes on the stock drawn for them. ▪ [ PAGE 57 ] After the draw is made, in case stock is sick, cripple, or already shipped, replacement will be drawn from the extras. In case of crippled stock that are in after the draw is made, stock will be re-drawn from the position of the crippled stock on down the list. This is the case of no extra cattle being available. ▪ [ PAGE 57 ] DELETE WORDING: If stock is not drawn in front of the chutes, time and place of the draw must be posted on the Bulletin Board or at the chutes. ▪ [ PAGE 52 ] ADD: In all judged scoring events, adopt ½ point system. CONTESTANT DISQUALIFICATIONS ▪ [ PAGE 35 ] All disputed calls must be settled in the arena, at the completion of the event or performance, by the arena director, event director and judges provided the contestant has followed the required procedure of such dispute. ▪ [ PAGE 36 ] Contestant will be disqualified for the use of tobacco, vaping products and marijuana products while on grounds. STEER WRESTLING ▪ [ PAGE 97 ] Dogger is entitled to only one jump in the thirty (30) second/one-minute time limit. A jump will be considered to have taken place if the steer wrestler has dismounted his horse. GOAT TYING – FOR JUNIOR HIGH & HIGH SCHOOL ▪ [ PAGE 74 ] There will be (1) goat staked at the center of the arena for ALL performances ▪ [ PAGE 75 ] ADD #10 TO SCORING AND PENALTIES: The Contestant is allowed a running start.
