Page 2 Introduction JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is a complete suite of modular, pre-integrated, industry-specific business applications designed for rapid deployment and ease of administration on a pure internet architecture. It is ideally suited for organizations that manufacture, construct, distribute, service, or manage products or physical assets. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools is the runtime architecture and integrated development environment at the heart of the EnterpriseOne server-centric enterprise architecture. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools is the technology layer that integrates with database systems, web application servers, reporting tools, and other third-party solutions. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools provides an abstraction layer that allows the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications to function without a direct dependency on the platforms and middleware beneath them. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools supports the industry’s leading hardware, operating systems, and database platforms. Moreover, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications look the same to application users, regardless of the database or hardware platform being used. Page 3 What’s New: Anticipated Changes to the Platform Roadmap The following sections describe anticipated changes to the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne platform roadmap. Note: Certification and withdrawal announcements from previous editions of this document have been archived in the Appendix. Important Note: Effective February 6, 2013, the Minimum Technical Requirements documents for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 9.1.x & 9.2.x have been superseded by the Oracle Certification system. The MTRs will remain available as archives but will cease to be updated. For current information about JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 9.1.x & 9.2.x supported platforms, log on to support.oracle.com and click the “Certifications” tab. For more information about the migration of the Minimum Technical Requirements to Oracle Certify, refer to My Oracle Support document 1525279.1. Page 5 Recent and Upcoming Withdrawals The general JD Edwards EnterpriseOne support policy is to withdraw support for a platform component when the vendor withdraws its primary or mainstream support. The following vendors have announced withdrawal of support of these platform components; therefore, Oracle plans to withdraw support for them concurrently.
