Th is paper presents the (un)sustainable rural tourism practice in Lika-Senj County in Croatia through a case study of the Linden Tree Retreat & Ranch and Plitvice Lakes. In order to understand the concepts of sustainable rural tourism, overtourism and undertourism, the case study begins with an analysis of statistical data, secondary literature and examples of overtourism in Lika (Plitvice Lakes Nati- onal Park). Qualitative insight (preliminary data) is used to refl ect on the Linden Tree Retreat & Ranch campaign called CIDER (Community, Integrity, Development, Evolution and Responsibility), which can be considered as the point of departure for the enhancement of undertourism development. A. Glavičić: Jugokomunističkepresude Senjanima 1948.-1949. Senj. zb. 22,349-368 (1995) ANTE GLAVICIC JUGOKOMUNISTIČKE PRESUDE SENJANIMA NA INSCENIRANOM SUDSKOM PROCESU SENJ - RIJEKA 1948.-1949. 6. travnja 1941. talijansko-njemačke fašističke armije bez ikakve najave rata napale su i bez znatnijeg otpora do 17. travnja zauzele Jugoslaviju - umjetnu versajsku tvorevinu, tzv. državu SHS-a. Gotovo bez borbe talijanske jedinice 2. armije negdje 11./12. travnja prodiru preko Vinodola, dolaze do Senja i nadiru dalje prema jugu, prema Karlobagu, ili na sjeveroistok prema Lici i Kninu (13. travnja).1 U pozadini Senja, na prostoru Alana, Krivoga puta i 1 Ivo KOVACIC, Otok Rab u radničkom pokretu i NOB-i, Rab 1941-1943, 148-152. -

HRVATSKIDane Pejnović – GEOGRAFSKI Lika: demographic developmentGLASNIK under 66/2, peripheral 23 – 46 conditions (2004.) UDC 911.3:314 (497.5–3 Lika) Original Scientifi c Paper Izvorni znanstveni članak Lika: Demographic Development under Peripheral Conditions Dane Pejnović Lika is the most notable example of a periphery and also the most problematic region in Croatia. This work represents research into the region’s demographic development under the conditions of Croatia’s polarized development up to the beginning of the 1990s and the wartime and postwar events during the last intercensus period. The spatial scheme of analysis adheres to the sub-regions and contemporary local government units. The results show that Lika and all of its sub-regions were beset by demographic devastation already during the 1980s. In the current period, it is characterized by extremely inauspicious demographic features, which seriously brings into question the possibility of revitalizing this region. Key words: Lika, periphery, regional development, demographic development, migration balance, natural population trends, depopulation Lika: demografski razvoj u uvjetima periferije Lika je najizrazitiji primjer periferije i najveće problemsko područje Hrvatske. U radu je istražen demografski razvoj regije u uvjetima polariziranog razvoja Hrvatske do početka 1990-ih godina te ratnih zbivanja i poraća u posljednjem međupopisnom razdoblju. Prostornu shemu analize čine subregije i suvremene jedinice lokalne samouprave.

Two and one-half years later, in December 1995, Deny Flight officially ended after an almost continuous 970-day aerial presence constituting over 100,000 aircraft sorties. In that time, NATO aircraft dropped more than 3,000 bombs while participating in combat operations for the first time in alliance history. Deny Flight’s initial mission was to enforce a UN Security Council mandated no-fly zone over Bosnia. This mission expanded in the ensuing months to include close air support when requested for UN protection forces (UNPROFOR) on the ground and to deter Serb aggression against six UN-designated safe areas. -
The Formation of Croatian National Identity
bellamy [22.5].jkt 21/8/03 4:43 pm Page 1 Europeinchange E K T C The formation of Croatian national identity ✭ This volume assesses the formation of Croatian national identity in the 1990s. It develops a novel framework that calls both primordialist and modernist approaches to nationalism and national identity into question before applying that framework to Croatia. In doing so it not only provides a new way of thinking about how national identity is formed and why it is so important but also closely examines 1990s Croatia in a unique way. An explanation of how Croatian national identity was formed in an abstract way by a historical narrative that traces centuries of yearning for a national state is given. The book goes on to show how the government, opposition parties, dissident intellectuals and diaspora change change groups offered alternative accounts of this narrative in order to The formation legitimise contemporary political programmes based on different visions of national identity. It then looks at how these debates were in manifested in social activities as diverse as football and religion, in of Croatian economics and language. ✭ This volume marks an important contribution to both the way we national identity bellamy study nationalism and national identity and our understanding of post-Yugoslav politics and society. Put Za Donji Lapac Ili Kako Je Banska Vlast Postupala Sa Spekulantima U Banovini Hrvatskoj
