In potem sva se začela menit. TITLE OF BACHELOR'S THESIS METHODS AND TECHNIQUES OF FREESTYLE SKIING IN SNOW PARKS Author's Name and Surname BINE ŽALOHAR University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Sport, 2016 Sports training, Freestyle skiing 84 pages, 19 figures, 14 schemas, 2 tables, 25 references ABSTRACT Based on literature and own experiences we helped ourselves to present methodology and techniques of freestyle skiing in the snow parks (freeskiing). Thesis begins with a brief history of freeskiing abroad and in Slovenia. It also presents the trends in building snow parks that affect organizing competitions and other events including the disciplines: big air jumps, skiing in halfpipe and slopestyle, which is based on jumping and sliding over the sliding objects. In the main part of the thesis the scheme of the new methodology is determined. We also described the system of the take-off which helps us to name and determine the following elements. Those are categorized into groups according to their complexity and difficulty of the execution. Basic dynamics of jumping, halfpipe skiing and sliding are presented besides description of the jump types, sliding objects and a halfpipe. The content of the thesis is devoted to freeski instructors, trainers or those who need more exact information about freeskiing. Žalohar, Bine. USSTF Board of Trustees' Meeting The Sonnenalp, Vail, Colorado December 3-7, 2014 Welcome Letter December 1, 2014 I would like to welcome you to the annual U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation Board of Trustees' meeting in Vail/Beaver Creek. We have an exciting few days ahead, including the Audi Birds of Prey race this week. After a very successful Olympic year, our athletes spent the summer training at camps around the world in preparation for the FIS Nordic World Championships in Falun, SWE, the FIS Freestyle and Snowboarding World Championships in Kreischberg, AUT and the FIS Alpine World Championships right here in Vail/Beaver Creek. The 2015 season started off on a high note with Mikaela Shiffrin’s GS win at the World Cup opener in Soelden. We had a great turn out at the Nature Valley First Tracks for the U.S. Alpine Ski Team naming at Copper Mountain. Our Foundation Officers, my staff and I are continuing to evolve the format of the board meeting to encourage further involvement, input and discussion from our board members. Similar to the summer meeting format, the chairs of each standing committee will be reporting on the work done in their areas of leadership. Additionally, the working groups created to address questions concerning "direct to athlete" as well as sport-specific giving have been meeting regularly and will report their conclusions. The meeting will also include an executive session designed to allow you to ask me questions in a confidential and privileged setting. I hope you will take this opportunity to engage with us.
