Language list English Language of Material English Abstract The World Federalist Movement is an international non-governmental organization operating together with the Institute for Global Policy to advance the global promise of peace and is commited to building a safer and more just world. Context Historical note The World Federalist Movement (WFM) was founded in Montreux, Switzerland, shortly after the creation of the United Nations; the WFM is an international non-governmental organization with UN consultative status; a committed network of 28 member organizations and individual members in more than 80 countries is coordinated by WFM's International Secretariat, co-located in The Hague and New York; the WFM operates together with Institute for Global Policy to advance the global promise of peace and is commited to building a safer and more just world. Custodial History The WFM archives were transferred from the International Peace Palace in The Hague, the Netherlands, to the IISH in 2013, preceded by a collection from professor Joseph P. Baratta in 2012. Content and Structure Content Correspondence, reports, documents concerning organizational issues, congresses, conferences, Council and Executive Committee meetings, finance, publicity, contacts with members, member organizations, and other organizations and institutes; files on working and research fields of the WFM including disarmament, peace, security, human rights, discrimination, environment, population and health c. 1965-1997. Arrangement Preliminary list is based on the labels of the original folders. Materials are packed in archival boxes, partly with the original folders.
