The structure is built on a metallic frame and the animals are made of painted sheep skins flled with hay. In the context of Berlin, some have seen it as a representaton of Hitler and his troops, especially as the exhibiton ended with a video showing a house blown up by freworks, while others interpreted it as a commemoraton of the Berlin Wall. For more informaton : htp://www.caiguoqiang.com/ CORRÈZE ARTISANS – MOHAIRDUCOTEAU.FR - LAGUENNE Near Tulle, in Laguenne, the Fleygnac family have been running this small farm (15 hectares) since the end of the eightes, breeding angora goats originatng from the Ankara plateaux. The stone buildings planted on the hillside date from the beginning of the 20th Century. An Auvergnat barn is used for stocking hay while part of the herd shelters in the lower part during winter; the rest of the animals are housed in a tunnel. Visitors are welcome all year around to visit the farm and the shop but it is advisable to contact the family beforehand. To get there, once you are in Laguenne, follow signs for “Mohair” up to the farm located approximately 1km from the village. In the yard of the Croix Rouge, 1 bd Anatole France - Brive www.jardiner-malin.fr/fche/jardinage-octobre.html A SEASONAL RECIPE : QUINCE PASTE Ingredients (serves 6) : 2 kg quince, 1,5 kg sugar, 1 vanilla stck Preparaton : wash the fruit and remove the “fuf”. Take out the heart and the pips. Cut the fruit into pieces but do not peel. Boil 1.5 litres of water. Add the quince and boil for 20 to 25 minutes untl the fruit is nice and sof Drain and purée the quince with a blender. Put back into a large pan together with the vanilla and sugar. Cook very slowly, mixing regularly untl the sugar has completely melted - should be approximately 15 minutes or untl the paste separates from the pan. Some people add gelatn to solidify the paste or a litle lemon for a more refned taste. Spread the paste on a sheet of greaseproof paper in one or several deep dishes. Should not be more than 2cm thick in order for the paste to dry properly. Allow to dry for several days, turning the paste over once to improve drying. As soon as it is sufciently dry you can cut the paste into strips, squares or diamond shapes. You can also coat with granulated sugar although this is not essental.
