The species Helicoperva titicacae is reported for the first time in Chile outside it’s of natural distributional range in Peru. During 2011-2013 adults of this moth were collected in forests of tamarugo (Prosopis tamarugo F. Philippi), located in the Pampa del Tamarugal National Reserve, Tarapacá Region, Chile (20°24´S - 69°44’W). There is no evidence of when this species could have expanded his range of distribution from southeast Peru to the Atacama Desert in Northern Chile. Helicoperva is a particularly invasive pest and his presence in the country could represents a potential threat to several crops and native forests. More than 95% of the shareholding of the group chose to receive shares demonstrating its confidence in the company. -

It also includes other important aspects or peculiarities. My line of research has been always linked to the study of the host-parasite interactions. These studies not only have focused on the effects of parasites on the fitness of their hosts and therefore its value as a selective force in nature, but also on the evolutionary strategies of transmission of different species of parasites. Throughout my career I have studied various host-parasite systems in populations of wild animals including mammals, reptiles and mostly birds, as well as their ectoparasites and endoparasites, mainly blood parasites. This has allowed me to obtain an overview about the particularities of different systems under study, which include very different life cycles. The team that I lead has always been characterized by used experimental approaches for the study of the host-parasite relationship in wild populations. We have been pioneers in the study of some variables of interest in these populations, such as heat stress proteins as parasitic stress indicators, and we have been pioneers in experimental studies of parasite load modification in blood parasites in wild populations. -

It aims to identify the objectives of the Center for Animal Reproduction of Universidad de los Lagos (CRAULA) to fulfill the needs of the local goat producers, in order to switch the economic basis of the region to more sustainable sources than the used nowadays. The center develops in vitro fecundation process to manage genetic improvement in goats. The technology transfer strategy includes a close monitoring of the production in a climatic extreme condition such as the north of Chile. Our results retrieve an updated snapshot of the goat production in the province, the economic projections and the producer´s demands for assessment and technology support, where a stronger interaction between University and industry is suggested. Iquique y Alto Hospicio se mantienen en Pica y Pozo Almonte retroceden a Fase 2cuarentena El aumento de casos positivos registrados en la región los últimos días, totalizando a la fecha 1.100 pacientes activos de Covid 19, obligaron a las autoridades sanitarias del país hacer retroceder a Fase 2 del Plan Paso a Paso a las comunas de Pica y Pozo Almonte. La medida que afecta a la capital del Tamarugal y al oasis turístico, fue anunciada por la Subsecretaria Paula Daza y comienza a regir a las 5 de la madrugada de este jueves 14, obligando a los residentes de ambas comunas a mantener cuarentena los sábados, domingos y festivos. El alcalde de Pozo Almonte Richard Godoy, coordinó la presencia de la PDI, Departamento de Migraciones y Policía Internacional para fiscalizar a inmigrantes que llegan a la comuna. Ayer se hizo el operativo con el fin de comprobar situación migratoria y sanitaria, a fin de evitar nuevos brotes de Covid. Ayer en el informe Covid se dio cuenta de 173 nuevos casos positivos en la región de Tarapacá, lo que elevó la cifra total de personas portadoras del virus, y que pueden contagiar a otros ciudadanos, a 1.100. Con eso desde el inicio de la pandemia son 17.511 residentes de las siete comunas los que se han enfermado de Corona Virus. Detallando los indicadores del lunes 11 de enero, se verifica que Iquique tuvo 96 casos, Alto Hospicio 52, Pozo Almonte 16, Pica 6, Huara 1, no hubo positivos en Camiña y Colchane, mientras que dos personas residentes en otras zonas del país también tuvieron PCR positivo durante su paso por Tarapacá. -

Daltry3 The Galapagos terrestrial snakes, or ‘Galapagos Dialommus fuscus and Labrisomus denditricus) (Merlen racers’ (Pseudalsophis spp.) are a monophyletic group and Thomas, 2013).
