Matchday 21 Serie A TIM 2020-21 5 - 7 February 2021 05/02/2021 20:45 - ARTEMIO FRANCHI FIORENTINA Vs INTER Fiorentina are winless in their last seven Serie A TIM meetings against Inter (D4 L3), after having won five of the previous six (L1). Inter are looking to do the league double over Fiorentina for the first time since 2013/14, under Walter Mazzarri. Fiorentina are unbeaten in their last six Serie A TIM meetings at the Franchi against Inter (W3 D3) – the last win for the Nerazzurri was back in February 2014. Fiorentina have their fewest points (22) at this stage of a Serie A TIM season for the first time since 2001/02 (when they were eventually relegated). In the last six campaigns the Viola have always decreased their points after 20 Serie A TIM matches, starting from 38 points in 2015/16. Inter have kept a clean sheet in their last three Serie A TIM games: in the last three campaigns, only once have they kept four clean sheets in a row, doing so in their last four games of last season. Inter have scored the most goals in Serie A TIM this season (49), whilst only Parma (14) have scored fewer than Fiorentina so far (21). Inter boss Antonio Conte has lost two Serie A TIM matches as a manager against Fiorentina (W5 D3); for the first time he could lose against a single opponent with each of the three sides he has managed in the competition (Atalanta, Juventus and Inter). Inter duo Romelu Lukaku (14) and Lautaro Martínez (10) have scored a total of 24 goals in Serie A TIM this season, three more than Fiorentina have managed so far. His next start for Inter will be Romelu Lukaku’s 50th in Serie A TIM. The Belgian striker is currently on 298 career goals for club and country. Only against Napoli (five) has Giacomo Bonaventura scored more Serie A TIM goals than against Inter (four) – the Fiorentina midfielder has had a hand in a goal in his last two Serie A TIM matches and only once has he been involved in a goal in three in a row, in November 2012 for Atalanta. 06/02/2021 15:00 - GEWISS STADIUM ATALANTA Vs TORINO Atalanta have won their last two Serie A TIM meetings against Torino, only once have they defeated them three times in a row, between 1995 and 2001. Atalanta’s 7-0 win against Torino in January 2020 was their largest win in Serie A TIM, and also was Torino’s joint biggest defeat in the competition level with the game against AC Milan in 1950 (0-7). Both Atalanta and Torino have won four of the last 10 Serie A TIM meetings between the sides in Bergamo (D2). After their 1-3 defeat against Lazio last time out, Atalanta could lose two Serie A TIM home matches in a row for the first time since November 2019 (v Cagliari and Juventus). Torino have drawn their last three Serie A TIM games and could draw four in a row for the first time since December 2017, with the last game in that run being 1-1 against Atalanta. Torino have lost the most points from leading situations in Serie A TIM this season (23), while no side has lost fewer than Atalanta (2, level with AC Milan). Torino have conceded the most goals in the final 30 minutes of games in Serie A TIM this season (21), three times more than Atalanta have in the same period (7). In the January 2020 league game between Torino and Atalanta, Josip Ilicic scored from 45m; since then, the goal scored from the longest distance in the competition was by Musa Barrow last December in Spezia vs Bologna (40m). His next goal will be Duván Zapata’s 50th for Atalanta in Serie A TIM: he could become the seventh player to reach this milestone for the Nerazzurri. Torino striker Andrea Belotti is the only player to have scored at least four right footed and four left footed goals in Serie A TIM this season. 06/02/2021 15:00 - MAPEI STADIUM SASSUOLO Vs SPEZIA Sassuolo have won each of their five meetings against Spezia between Serie A TIM, Serie B and Coppa Italia, scoring 12 goals and conceding only three. Sassuolo are unbeaten in their last 11 Serie A TIM matches against promoted sides (W7 D4): their last such defeat was back in February 2019 (0-3 v Empoli). Sassuolo are winless in their last four Serie A TIM matches (D2 L2) and could go five in a row in a single campaign for the first time since March 2019 (eight). After their 0-1 defeat against Udinese the last time out, Spezia could fail to score in two successive league games for the first time in Serie A TIM. Sassuolo have won each of their last four Serie A TIM games against sides from Liguria, scoring 3.5 goals per game in the process. Sassuolo have scored the highest percentage of their Serie A TIM goals in the second half of games this season (76% - 25/33), whilst no other side have conceded more goals than Spezia in the same period (26, level with Torino). Sassuolo have conceded the most shots from inside the box in Serie A TIM this season (216) – on the other hand, Spezia have faced the fewest shots from outside the box (51). Sassuolo’s Francesco Caputo has scored nine goals in his last nine Serie A TIM matches against promoted sides, including one in the reverse fixture against Spezia. Andrej Galabinov made his Serie A TIM debut in August 2017 against Sassuolo – the Spezia striker has scored two goals in three meetings against them in the competition, including one in the reverse fixture this term. Spezia’s Diego Farias started Sassuolo’s very first Serie A TIM game in August 2013, against Torino; he has scored three goals against Sassuolo in the competition, only scoring more in the competition against Napoli (4). 06/02/2021 18:00 - ALLIANZ STADIUM JUVENTUS Vs ROMA Roma have lost more Serie A TIM games against Juventus than they have vs any other side (82). Indeed, the Bianconeri have won twice the amount of Serie A TIM games against Roma than they’ve lost (W82 D50 L41). AS Roma could be unbeaten in three consecutive league meetings against Juventus for their first time since December 2002: five in that case under Fabio Capello. After a 1-3 defeat in August 2020 at Allianz Stadium, Juventus could lose two consecutive home games against AS Roma for the first time ever in Serie A TIM. Juventus are looking to keep three consecutive Serie A TIM clean sheets for the first time under Andrea Pirlo, last doing so in June 2020 under Maurizio Sarri. Including the awarded game against Verona, AS Roma have conceded 33 Serie A TIM goals this season, their second-most at this stage in the last 70 years (after 34 goals conceded in 2012-13 season). No side has scored more goals in the opening 15 minutes of Serie A TIM games than Roma this season (8), while Juventus have scored the most in the final 15 minutes of games this term (14). Juventus have managed the joint-most open play sequences with 10+ passes in Serie A TIM this season (along Napoli), 329 – 75 more than AS Roma, despite playing a game fewer. Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo could play four consecutive league games without scoring a single goal for his first time since November 2017, with Real Madrid. AS Roma are the team that Juventus striker Álvaro Morata has faced the most times in Serie A TIM without ever scoring or delivering an assist: five meetings against the Giallorossi. AS Roma striker Borja Mayoral has scored the joint-most goals in his first five Serie A TIM starts (six) in the three points for a win era. 06/02/2021 20:45 - LUIGI FERRARIS GENOA Vs NAPOLI Napoli have remained unbeaten in each of their last 17 Serie A TIM games against Genoa (W12 D5) – the Grifone have only had a longer winless streak in the competition against Inter (24 between 1959 and 1991). The 0-6 loss against Napoli earlier this season was Genoa's biggest defeat in Serie A TIM since 1965 (0-7 vs Juventus). Napoli could win four straight away games against Genoa in Serie A TIM for the first time in their history. After wins against Cagliari and Crotone, Genoa could win three consecutive Serie A TIM games for the first time since February 2018. Napoli have won each of their last four Serie A TIM games played on Saturday, scoring two goals each time. They hadn’t won any of their previous seven Saturday games in the competition (D3 L4). No team has conceded fewer goals from set piece situations than Napoli in this Serie A TIM season (four), while Genoa have scored just once from a set piece so far this term (Criscito’s penalty against Spezia in December). Since the arrival of Davide Ballardini at Genoa (from 21/12), the Grifone are the Serie A TIM team with the fewest goals conceded (4), the most clean sheets (4), the highest shooting accuracy (60%) and the second best shot conversion rate (16%) – they are also fifth for average points (2.0). Genoa forward Mattia Destro could arrive at the double figures of goals in Serie A TIM for the first time since 2016/17, with Bologna.
