To learn more about this program please go to www.Bowvalley4h.com BOW VALLEY BEEF AND MULTI 4-H CLUB CHARITY STEER Did you know STARS does 8 missions a day on average? STARS handles more than 27,000 emergency calls per year and it costs $10,000,000 annually to operate each base. People who live or play rurally particularly depend on STARS to get them to a hospital when emergencies occur and time is of the essence. That is why the Bow Valley Beef and Multi 4–H Club chose to support STARS with our charity steer this year. We have selected a Maine Anjou steer from NuHaven Cattle Company who generously donated the steer. This year we named our steer Choice. Choice was the name of Jared Weston’s steer when he was a member of our club, prior to his tragic death in 2002 from a school bus accident. The Bow Valley Beef and Multi 4-H Club started the Charity Steer tradition in honour of Jared, with STARS being the original recipient, given their important involvement in the aftermath of the accident. Choice will be auctioned off at 4-H on Parade at the Calgary Stampede grounds on Sunday, June 2. We are building a consortium of buyers who wish to support STARS through the Bow Valley Beef and Multi 4-H Club. That's where you come in. Your donation of any amount is gratefully received. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations over $25 and all donors will be recognized unless you prefer otherwise. Is Canola in your crop plans for this year? Please contact the Agricultural specialists at Rocky View County at 403-230-1401 or [email protected] for the latest news and best scouting and management practices for Club Root. It’s here. Well, we might just be a couple of weeks away from the election and we are excited and ready. You may have seen our flyers and literature at your doors already as we have been out in this crazy weather but have been met with great warmth at the doors and at our events around the constituency. We wanted to remind you that we have posted our Rural Crime policy piece on my Facebook page and would love to get your feedback on what we think is extremely comprehensive and common sense policy. As we meet people whether one on one or in groups, it continues to be one of the main concerns we hear about. Please send your concerns and advice to our constituency office email at [email protected]. It has been very interesting watching the present NDP government spend your tax dollars on advertisements and campaigning as we wind up for this election. The icing on the cake was seeing the Premier campaigning in the public space of the Hospital in Lethbridge. AHS rules prohibit campaigns and partisan events during elections in their facilities. The NDP campaign event was a clear violation of AHS policy. The Premier and her staff broke Government of Alberta rules that disallow them from hosting a partisan event in a public hospital,”. Please take a look at our policy announcement around health care at: https://unitedconservative.ca/Article?name=UCPNews_Feb202019& . As of today, the NDP is using our policy to frame their election promises. I guess imitation is the biggest form of flattery. I’m working to earn your trust and your vote as the UCP Candidate in the new riding of Chestermere- Strathmore. Please join me, learn about my positive vision for Alberta, and request a lawn sign, volunteer, or donate at the following events: Tuesday March 5: Pints ‘N Politics at the Firehouse Bar&Grill, Langdon 7:00 - 9:30 PM. I will be playing a few tunes! No minors. Thursday March 7: Winter Family Fun at the Dockside, Chestermere, 4:30 – 8:30 PM. Bring the kids, enjoy a horse drawn sleigh ride courtesy of Indus’ own Vern and Connie, and warm up at the Dockside Bar on beautiful Chestermere Lake. Family friendly event. Free admission, hot chocolate, and conversation. Sunday March 10: All That Political Jazz at Origins Taproom, Strathmore. Free admission, pop, and popcorn and musical entertainment by Yours Truly! Family friendly.

  • March 2017 MONTHLY STATISTICS PACKAGE CREB® Region Report Mar
March 2017 MONTHLY STATISTICS PACKAGE CREB® Region Report Mar. 17 REGIONAL HIGHLIGHTS April 3, 2017 First quarter sales totalled 294 units in Airdrie, which is ten per cent above the same period last year and comparable to the long- term average. Much of the gain was due to a rise in the number of attached sales. Persistently lower new listings in Airdrie also helped prevent further inventory gains in the resale market. However, competition from the new home market continues to weigh on resale pricing, particularly in the attached market. The unadjusted benchmark price for detached homes averaged $381,433 in the first quarter of 2017, similar to the previous quarter, but 2.6 per cent below the same time last year. There were 114 residential sales in Okotoks through the first quarter of 2017. Improved demand in March led sales to a twelve per cent increase year-over-year in first three months of the year. Stronger sales, combined with steady reductions in inventory, have prevented steeper price adjustments. The unadjusted benchmark price for a detached home totalled $431,333 during the first quarter of 2017, which is 0.20 per cent below levels from the previous quarter and 2.9 per cent below the first quarter of last year. First quarter sales in Cochrane were the second highest on record and remain well above long term trends. Increased SHARE OF SALES March 2017 activity in the attached sector has been a key driver for this market. The attached segment now 1% Calgary 2% accounts for a 31 per cent share 5% of total residential sales activity Airdrie 5% compared to only 25 per cent in 2% 2014.
